  1. I'll play anything...as long as it says 'Fender' and 'Telecaster' on the headstock
  2. cheers, if i see one in a store ill have a look...i just got a t-rex overdrive though that does a really awesome crazy horse kinda thing and i can get pretty close to tweedy with that, theres just something really special about his tone on that record though does anyone know if there is a pedal for taking all the bass out of your tone, like a bass cut or something i do it all the time on my amp to get really snarly horrid lead tones but it would be awesome if there was a little pedal that could do it
  3. am i the only person who was left disapointed after hearing a P&C in the flesh, i got the guy in the store to show me how it worked and it just didnt seem to do much, just made some slighty synthy squelches its funny cos the second i mentioned it he knew i must be a tweedy nut, and said Jeff had actually been in the store recently to buy a pickup which i suppose adds up what with him being in the UK recently anyone have the RX overdriver, id love to be able to get that ALTWYS tone
  4. i thought Arctic Monkeys were really awesome this week, the song he did on the Vox Organ was great, and i dont usually enjoy their stuff and Brian Ferry too, though that guy from the Hold Steady needs to calm down a bit i reckon
  5. thanks alot, thats what i was hoping

  8. do you think the CD+DVD will be available in shops also or do i have to pre order? see i dont wanna pre order cos it wont come on the release date but if i go to the shops and they dont have the dvd ill have to pre order and wait even longer to hear the record since i dont wanna buy the non-dvd one aswell
  9. best show on television ever love Jools cheers for this i was hoping they would be on
  10. just cos you dont agree...doesnt mean its crazy i just think its a great sounding record, reminds me of the white album a bit its just really loose and free and the songwriting is flawless
  11. its a great record but its not a scratch on A Ghost is Born in my opinion, or YHF for that matter
  12. thanks for everyones input, i went to music ground in london yesterday, with is pretty much all pedals, and ended up with a T-Rex Mudhoney, pricey but such a beautiful tone i couldnt resist it, sound incredible with the holy grail too i asked the guy in the store if he would show me a prunes and custard just out of curiousity and we got talking about wilco, and apparently Jeff came in their store a couple weeks ago for a pick up AND, Conor Deasy of the Thrills fame was in the shop but i didnt have the nerve to bother him im kicking myself now
  13. i desperately need an overdriver/dirt pedal just for a bit of crunch and so i can cut through more for the odd lead parts. the lead guitarist in my band has a big muff and i definately dont want anything that vicious think Crazy Horse/Cardinals kinda crunch ill be using it with my Tele + Holy Grail and the old marshall combo at the rehearsal studio's we use what does everyone else use and what can you recommend i dont really wanna spend over 100 quid
  14. anyone got one of these, i desperately need an overdrive pedal of some sort..just a nice crunchy pedal i know Ryan adams uses a blues driver with a holy grail (which im already using) and i love his tone so i'm looking into these or the Nano Muff Overdrive
  15. i wondered this watching 'I Am Trying..', he seems to have alot...i guess they could just be EQs and what not to get a nice tone, a tuner i would imagine too
  16. there is a big article with Tweedy in uncut this month, great photo's and some babyshambles bashing i read it at work yesterday but ill pick up a copy later and see if i can scan it maybe

  19. everyone here has great taste in music, its good news im not actually gonna make a CDR cos i cant, but it would look something like this The Clash - Train In Vain Blur - Charmless Man Oasis - Hello! Nirvana - Lounge Act Rufus Wainwright - Poses Neil Young - Powderfinger The Band - Arcadian Driftwood Mannassas - It Doesnt Matter Jackson Browne - These Days David Crosby - Almost Cut My Hair
  20. I agree with LH, the production on A Ghost Is Born is the greatest ive heard on any modern record and i would imagine all their stuff was done analog, live sucks i cant get this vid to play
  21. i love KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic is where its at
  22. Lawsuit! I believe this is an old Ibanez, Gibson sued them at one point
  23. im exactly the same mate, i wont buy anything if i cant keep it forever you can get the GAD ones, Fender's chinese made Guild's but to be honest there is nothing like a US built westerly guild the fender ones are ok, but i reckon you could pick up a second hand westerly for a good price if you hunt around try slightly newer ones, like 80s-90s before the fender takeover but still not old enough to be 'vintage' prices
  24. Gillian Welch and David Rawlings awesome version of The Weight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5bhVyLux9M
  25. what alot of people do anodyne is tune them to Eb or D and use a capo, to prevent what happened to yours, but still...its usually over a few years that would happen the guild ones have a duel truss rods, so they take the strain a little better, i think Taylor do it to
