I Wanna Destroy You

i love alt country Wilco (and Uncle Tupelo) as much as the next man, i just think the song is a pivotal point in Wilco's growth.

to me, the ending jam of this song is the sound of Wilco leaving the limitations of Alt-Country behind and turning into the great band that they are now.

you know those moments when your reading a great book or seeing a great movie or hearing great music and you actually shiver because its so moving? I had one of those listening to this album.

i agree 100%. The lyrics are also beautiful. some people are getting turned off by tweedy's deceptively simple lyrics but there's a lot going on in these songs. i resent the notion that What Light is corny; i think it puts a very unique and beautiful spin on a tried-and-true theme. On and On and On is a lovely summation of what I think is one of WIlco's central philosophies: "Please dont cry. We were designed to die."
