I know what you mean. Wilco is one of my favorite bands and always will be, but Star Wars was a little lacking in the emotional department. I feel like that's sort of inevitable after a while...when you write hundreds of songs, you eventually run out of water in the well. Even the most complicated/difficult life only lends itself to a few great stories. Once those have been told, what next? Also, I don't know if I'm alone here but I actually thought the second disc of Sukierae was the most emotional set of songs he's ever done. Maybe it was partly what I was going through in my own life

I'll agree with you there. "You and I" is the only outright weak song. If it were just Jeff solo I could stand it but...Feist's voice is nice enough and everything, but the whole feel when she and the drums kick in is just so generic.

I print-screened it and saved the file as "oops review" just so I can find it a couple years from now and be like "wtf is this?"

I loved all the SBS songs live but it was recorded so blandly that WTA blows it away.
-
This may seem ludicrous and is probably already known to be untrue (have people posted corrections to anything?) but in You Never Know I have always been hearing "get back to black meadows and pearls" and thought it must be Jeff's incredibly roundabout way of saying get back to school (black meadows = chalkboards, with pearls of wisdom...stretch your brain enough and it makes bizarre sense...). If that's as wrong as I'm fearing it is I'll have to break myself of the habit of hearing it that way.

Anyone got an idea of the chords in the middle section and outro? If not I'm gonna work on it but I don't wanna waste my time if it's already figured out.

If forced to choose only 3, these deserve my votes: Handshake Drugs Muzzle of Bees Impossible Germany
-
I've always been horrible at picking my favorite songs by any band because it's so mood-dependent. But I agree with you on Impossible Germany - great song and probably my favorite on SBS and top 3 all time. Right now I feel similarly about One Wing, but I'm not sure if that will hold up over time, especially without the ending that I loved live.

In Sonny Feeling the one line is: "all the mini-mart clerks know" but as far as the word at the end of the next line, I can't hear anything other than "imminence" (like you suggested).

This version is great, thanks for the tab.

My brother and I were right next to the taper if you're talking about the guy in right side, row G. It was the best Wilco show I've seen so far (out of 3). They were incredible tonight. And I've been laughing the past 3 hours about Tweedy's humor tonight. I loved: "Has anybody else out there gotten a gnat or mosquito down the gullet?" "(points to self) About 50. I'm full." Also when he sprayed the DEET and walked right into it, getting it in his eyes. Tossed it back to the woman, apparently must've hit her chest or something and he goes "that was for pegging my guitar"

If anyone in the Louisville area is going and wants two free tickets in Reserved Right Row G, and has time to come pick them up before leaving today (we can meet somewhere recognizable in the St Matthews area so you don't have to search around), PM me and we'll try to plan it out. It looks like I'm not going to be able to go myself for a few different reasons. I apologize ahead of time if my plans change (there is a slim chance that I might go even though it might not be the wisest decision), but if you contact me in the next couple hours before I've had time to change my mind I guarantee

I'm seeing both RH and Wilco - with my wife the first night, not sure yet about the second. I still haven't successfully transformed her into a Wilco fan. I got reserved row G tickets through the presale which at least partly makes up for getting terrible Ticketmaster tickets to the Radiohead show.

Yes, this is the best quality live recording I've got of any concert I've ever attended. Thanks so much to the taper.
-
So I'll be able to get a poster? I got held up talking to someone I did NOT want to run into at the concert and couldn't even make it to the merchandise...I want one of those so badly!!!

As far as I remember, that covers it. Amazing show.

I'll be sitting in the first row of the upper deck. Having been to countless baseball games there I know the view from up there (since it's so low for an "upper deck") is superior to the back rows down below. I just hope the sound is equally good...either way, since I've seen them before I'm just excited to see them in such a cool place in my hometown.

I was pretty depressed to realize I missed all these new opportunities (thanks to my busy week of moving) and now that I've missed the Ticketmaster pre-sale I see only Section 114 Row U on the Wilco pre-sale. I know there's not a ton of information available but could anyone give me a bit of advice? Should I buy these two or is there still a way to get something better (field seats or a closer row). P.S. I hope they don't leave up the foul screen. Edit: I just bought the tickets anyway and I guess I'll just see what happens during the next couple days... Edit: Sure enough, better sea

What are the places to look other than this thread? Is there a DC++ hub for Wilco or anything like that?
-
Well I certainly hope you're okay. I just feel really bad for my mom and anyone with hearing loss and don't want to become like that...but now and then I'm stupid about it, especially if I'm playing my own guitar plugged in.

Is there any way to get versions of yours that can be viewed without Webshots?

Thanks very much to everyone who has provided pictures. I'll take any multimedia I can get from this show.
