a trip to austin isn't complete without a dip into Barton Springs Pool. http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/parks/bartonsprings.htm during ACL two years, I went there on the monday afternoon for a swim and a nap and woke up next to John Stirratt.

seen lots of shows there. it's small. I've always been close to the front, so I'd say the sound is fine. I like it better than irving plaza. for one thing, the bar is separate from the music, so for a club show, that cuts down on the folks who go to shows and don't give a shit and want to talk. and plus, there's pierogis and kielbasa to be had.

sweet. that's going to be a tough ticket to get. yikes.

I'm just hoping for an outdoor venue. acoustics, schmoustics. so, fine put them into the band shell! summerstage would have been great, too. their show with sonic youth a couple of years back there was great. I did wonder why they are playing hammerstein... nothing's booked at RCMH. is it about playing somewhere they've never played before?
