K, just to explain my love of HMD...you need to know that I heard it many, many times LIVE before ever hearing the actual recorded version. And to me live ANYTHING always wins out!!! Not to mention the fact, that one of the versions where Jeff sings "playing Kiss covers" he threw in about 30 additional bands i.e The Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo, etc. and he was actually sort of laughing and having fun it was nice (A cpl extra emoticons for the person who thought we had too many already )

If they gave us more of a choice over there, I'd put something else up. What Light is beautiful but overplayed to me already. So I've settled for Heavy Metal Drummer for now...that kicks butt!!!

Some of my non-Wilco loving friends were actually sad that I took down What Light from my MySpace...soooooooooooo cool!!!

I hate to admit this here, but I used to be quite a fan of Def Leppard. I saw them two years ago but never heard about this cover album. I am highly dissappointed...

HUGE fan!!! No one's allowed to call, IM or come by between 10p & 11p. And I'm sure it helps that Denis hails from my hometown and I've been an admirer of firefighter's since I was 5 yrs old...seriously

It is a nice love song, but to me the message is you're okay and I'm not and I'm sorry that it's not working...that's depressing. Plus it very much suits my relationship with my ex from Chicago who "gave me" Wilco in the first place...

You know, my ex-b/f (who just so happened to introduce me to Wilco) is from Chicago. Everything Jeff says is what my ex used to say. We East Coasters thought he must've been exaggerating....guess not This makes me want to get back to the city even more now. It was a really great read. Thanks for sharing!!!

I was TOTALLY amazed to hear them on the radio this afternoon as I was "seeking". They played "What Light" a little after 5pm. I've heard Wilco here & there on our independent station, but this station is a little more popular and plays a lot more mainstream stuff. The DJ at the time had very nice things to say about the band and the album. However, he did also tell the listening audience about the "hazing of Wilco" by their dissappointed fans (over the VW commercial).
