  1. I came to this site originally, for 1 reason and 1 reason only, to read the after show reviews from the great bbop and now realize that is a great idea to go back too.
  2. Yes lets decide how/to what level of discriminationa person or state is and then we draw the line. So so, yes we will visit, completely off the hinges, OK we will punish the fans that are likely as liberal as us and have helped us succeed. Yes, starting down the road of a former fan. But it's OK, like Louie B said, my two tickets don't mean much. And what the hell, the band can voice their opinion, but for gods sake the fans can't. I have two tickets in the 20th row...any takers, looks like WILCO made a difference.
  3. JUST READ THE PART I QUOTED FOR YOU, O K . . and here it is o n e m o r e t i m e THE POINT IS, if your gonna call out Indiana and do this, then do it for the entire leg of the tour that is going through some very similar places with as worse or even worse ass backward politicians. and by the way, if they were doing this for the entire leg, THEN I WOULD BE JUMPING UP AND DOWN SAYING that is the Wilco I LOVE! ! !
  4. Correct, we could drive two hours to Cincy or Louisville or any other place like I've done 30 + times. At this point I really don't even care if I go, all these shows will be the same plus or minus 1 or 2 songs. Tickets are still available on Live Nation so maybe our wonderful rock star comedian will tell us April Fools tomorrow, who cares. THE POINT IS, if your gonna call out Indiana and do this, then do it for the entire leg of the tour that is going through some very similar places with as worse or even worse ass backward politicians. By the way, nice screen name, MMJ REALLY IS THE BE
  5. You say you don't like to go there and then you do. You don't know me and I don't know you, so I won't judge. You are correct, cancelling this show is certainly a tiny blip, THIS ONE SHOW DOESN'T MEAN SHIT. I've seen Wilco perform the same songs again and again and will live VERY HAPPY without ever hearing them again. Remember this is a fan board, there are many in this state that only get a chance once or twice every ten years to see this band on local turf. It's about cancelling one date on these grounds, while the entire leg of this tour is going through many places with very simila
  6. Yes, we both know it doesn't matter.
  7. Yes those 5K comments sure are big numbers, WOW. Just imagine all the talk of the show and speaking about it each night from the stage, 4/22 thru 5/9 would have made. Meanwhile the board has 11 members signed in today and the usual high single digits lurking!
  8. I have been against it since the beginning. I have voted every election since I was 18, primaries and all. Politics and politicians are CROOKS. EACH AND EVERYONE ONE OF THEM. They all have self interest in mind, period. My rant is against Wilco thinking they can pick and choose. CANCEL ALL THE DATES, IN ALL THESE ASS BACKWARD STATES. Then they are making a point.
  9. The work has already been done, yea, look at all the comments on each one of these sites and you will see "Who's Wilco". All the while, friends that I have tried to get into this band for years finally go, " O I hear that Wilco thing, good for them" Big loss to the city.
  10. Yup, set a band or any star on a pedestal and they will let you down.
  11. Gen Con was the first to come out against this. They bring 50 million dollars to the table each year and are to close to re-negotiating a deal past the 5 year contract up in 2020. The NCAA is located here and brings shit tons of money to the state and local economy each year, probably more than Gen Con since we all know how important sports are to everyone. Angie's List is in the process of expanding, albeit through tax incentives. If the band really wanted to make a point, they could have announced they were donating that HUGE $150K, they decided to pass on, to ANY organization against di
  12. I'm all for the NCAA, Gen Con, Angie's List + many city / states not paying for travel to Indiana. That is REAL MONEY. 2,500 seats at $60 or $150,000 in ticket sales, of which Indianapolis does not receive a ticket tax and Live Nation is paying a guarantee, is SQUAT. For possible the first time ever, Wilco has 5K comments on a Facebook post and a few national news pieces have picked up the story, all the while a large percentage of people are going, who's Wilco. The ONLY losses here were the fans and local restaurants in the area that were hoping for a better than average night. Since the
  13. read post #17, sarcasm much? glad to get under your skin. Now you know how unhappy we are about them cancelling our local show and punishing liberal fans that are the minority in this state. I've spent shit tones of money, traveling all over, to see these guys play Jesus Etc one more time all the while they finally announce a local show and cancel it! GOOD NEWS EVERYONE, the world is much bigger than Wilco. My Morning Jacket just released another song off their forthcoming album.
  14. Can open, worms everywhere #needytweedy http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/30/presidential-candidates-indiana-law_n_6973280.html Looks like it's officially time to cancel those TX , LA and FL dates...who's next? I just received my refund and bought Foo Fighters tickets. The Grammy's tell me their a much better band.
  15. I have voted in every election since I was 18 and it was NEVER in the direction of Mr Pence. My vote has only counted once in Indiana, in 2008. Sure there's differences but it doesn't change the fact that cancelling one date isn't shit, 11 more by my math to really make a point.
  16. Real nice I'm one of the 2,000 Wilco fans just punished by cancelling my local Indianapolis date, THU May 7, due to our dumb ass Governors decision to sign the recent religious freedom act. If they are not cancelling the entire tour leg, EXCEPT OHIO, then what's the point? http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2015/03/27/19-states-that-have-religious-freedom-laws-like-indianas-that-no-one-is-boycotting/ Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico,Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, W Virginia, Pennsylvani
  17. I'm the one that recommended they contact TMM so I am VERY happy to see a reply, specially considering where this thread has gone. They replied to me in 2009 when Frongate's shitty presale sold me two outside isle end seats that were front row but directly in front of the speaker stack some 20 + feet off stage right. These were seats in my opinion that should not have even be available.

  19. On Friday, Wilco will be preceded by Chvrches, Panda Bear, Mac DeMarco, iLoveMakonnen, and others. http://pitchfork.com/news/58466-wilco-sleater-kinney-chance-the-rapper-headline-pitchfork-music-festival-2015/ Tweedy will likely play Forecastle Satuday, IMO, possibly before MMJ - Forecastle all the way for Ditty and the Mrs.

  21. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12/30/obama-letter-chicago-boy-santa_n_6397086.html Chicago Boy Wanted 'Safety' For Christmas And Obama Responded Before Santa Could Most kids write to Santa Claus asking for toys, games or bikes. Not 13-year-old Malik Bryant. Instead, the boy, who calls Chicago’s high-poverty, high-crime Englewood neighborhood home, asked Santa for just one Christmas gift this year. In a letter collected through nonprofit group Direct Effect Charities’ annual Letters to Santa program, he asked for “safety. I just wanna be safe.” According to the Chicago Sun-Times, w

  23. We were in the balcony both nights in 2011 and the first night of this year. It seems the balcony almost always sits until the encore. Night 2 of this year, we were on the floor and stood the entire time. It was a blast and you had two of the best seats in the house!
