  1. hey M. It really didn't matter to me. I was afraid/hoping he would write out some kind of satement, considering all the space available and the history between Jeff, Jay and Reprise. As it ended up, I'm perfectly pleased with the whole experience and consider myself to be a lucky man to have found such a great group of people.
  2. While we wait, here is what JT signed for me after the show. I picked it up on ebay for cheap since Jeff's sig was missing. Story goes that he was upset with Reprise and refused to autograph it back when Summerteeth was being promoted. I was worried about how he would react, so I left the story out and just asked him to sign it. He was so nice that he even commented that he was sorry he didn't have a silver sharpee so they would match.
  3. I saw DeNiro for for the first time in Taxi Driver. With other films like The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, Jackie Brown and The King Of Comedy, his acting has more percision and is more believable than a Pacino performance, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I like Al but he's not even better than Robert Duvall.
  4. If I've had too much to drink and Champagne Supernova is played, I embarrassingly become a supernova!
  5. but then again....think of the number of ladies goin' to THAT show. I would imagine the subtle grooviness of jack johnson's style would come across poorly in any festival environment. I like him 'cause my woman likes him and he's just so consistent with his cheesy goodness. Fine for my patio this summer, but I would pass on him with a large crowd.

  7. To say the least!!!! Just when you think you'd never run across something grand - there it is. Even if no records can be found at yard sales, always ask if they have any. I can't tell you how many times I cherry picked boxes left out of a sale simply because they thought nobody would want them. Warning: When you ask, be prepared to hear all about their collection if they have some and aren't selling them. However, sometimes offering to transfer the music to CD will pry that elusive copy you want out of their clutch. Most just simply want the music.
  8. I went back for more and got several Chuck Berry's, another Buddy Holly, Mississippi John Hurt, Bill Haley, Johnny Cash, Bo Diddley, Del Shannon, Leadbelly, Jackie Wilson and Ritchie Valens. In all, a very good weekend.
  9. Yesterday, I was invited to have first pick at a collection that was for sale. About 500 lps, primarily made up of 50s and 60s. I grabbed about 50 that he's currently pricing and left with a sweet Magical Mystery Tour and mono Flowers from the Rolling Stones. The condition of the entire collection was impressive. Boxes of 45s and their respective picture sleeves included beatles, elvis and many assorted early pop stars. The blues 78s were terrific. Elmore james and several Lightnin' Hopkins We will see if he prices me out, but the first transaction (allowing a few to go home with me) went
  10. As I get older, I find that I underestimated The Byrds importance and have enjoyed revisiting their catalogue. I own the first few lps in mono and they are stellar!!! However, I'm drawn more to The Doors because my oldest brother was into them and I've grown up never tiring of their sound. tough choice.............The Doors

  17. First off, lemme say Chicago is a great city. It's people are friendly, the food is exceptional and it's history is alive and well. A special thanks to all and especially Edie, Wendy, Erin and her wonderful parents for putting this all together. As well, Jeff & Sue for their dedication, sincerity and fantastic performance. The stories, photos and memories from last weekend so far have been wonderful! Being our first LRS, we were incredibly nervous. You folks made Debi and me feel right at home! I was able to talk to Jeff in the Kitchen for a short time - which was surreal. He is a ver
