the jammery tonight was electric! nels shred up a storm, pat was a tambourine man, and jeff's "neck brace from the audience" comedy was too hilarious. pat took a polaroid just in time, priceless favorites included war on war, handshake drugs, forget the flowers, spiders, california stars, and most especially, kingpin! soo goood for feeling the love! a beautiful celebration in a city of character. happy holidays, wilco, neil young and friends! -
it must be the magic of new orleans! this was such a wonderful, generous broadcast. the wilcos' easygoing, peaceful freedom made for a phenomenal, fluid, jamtastic electrical charge that was stunning. the first marathon set took your breath away; jeff's voice was very direct and purely present. nothingsever, pot kettle, magazine, and theologians were definite highlights. hate it here was particularly alive w/the total pros tonight (what a fabulous job they've done!). i wonder if they have been to cafe du monde. wilco is one of the best reasons to stay up late. here's to cafe au lait coup

this was a real treat! it was beautiful to see them so joyously taking in this moment; they looked and sounded wonderful. the suit, sneaks and still frames were fabulous (how photogenic!). so awesome!

wednesday's whimsical treats: john, someday soon, roses, box full of letters, pieholden (this song is gold & yay, total pros!), i'm always in love and... on and on and on. we were just so lucky to hear this live; i felt like time made sure to hold its full beauty. jeff mentioned that they had sifted through past years' dc set lists and worked to include tunes they hadn't played as often. the effort was totally appreciated and it's as if everyone found their song. everyone looked fresh and the banter about the grammy presented on night one, a stuffed, singing toy from an audience mem

wow, what a tremendous show we had! from the crisp fall breeze to a set list woven from the sky above, saturday evening in charlottesville was really special, a celebration. highlights included jeff on opener sunken treasure (crystalline!), it's just that simple (john's voice is just beautiful), hoodoo voodoo (we lucked out), adorable hummingbird dancing (jeff and a younger audience member), the ever-talented palette of nels, glenn, mike, and pat (so fun to watch), and wilco's amazing accomplishment of touring the states so thoroughly and commitedly for sky blue sky since spring. do tune in: s
