  1. First Avenue--a combination of the intimacy of the place and mpls guests for their shows there. Eagle's Ballroom is the worst place I've seen a show--not Wilco, though. But I'll be seeing them there in Oct, so I suspect that will be my worst.
  2. I'm new to this, and I'm wondering if someone could take me through the process. I've done research on my own, understand the concept and what happens, etc. So I'm registered with zomb but I can't seem to actually download/upload(?) the stuff I want. Anyone feeling especially patient? I'll be forever grateful!
  3. love, love that one... and especially up against the next line... "...but he never could"
  4. I'm sorry--I'm new here and put "lyrics" into the search engine but didn't see a specific thread. Go ahead and delete--sorry if I annoyed all of you. I'm just enthusiastic about finding this site and "talking" with other Wilco fans.
  5. One of my favorite things about Wilco is the way Jeff can turn a phrase. So what are some of your favorite lyrical moments from Wilco? I'll start with my favorite (so far/right now) from SBS (as evidence by my username): I'm this apple This happening stone When I'm alone
  6. I agree--I'm addicted.
  7. Yeah, that is actually pretty hot. Unless it's the Down From the Mountain brothers from the second link....
  8. Where bouts are you seats? Have you ever been to the OC before? I haven't but it looks beautiful.
  9. My first time seeing Wilco was at the 1995 H.O.R.D.E. Festival in Somerset, WI. They played a side-stage and "Box Full of Letters" was getting radio play on 770 Radio K in the Cities. My memory of them is .... a bit hazy as HORDE featured The Black Crowes, Ziggy Marley, G. Love, Blues Traveler... there was a lot of herb, to put it mildly.
  10. Who else is going to see them at the Overture Center on 9/11? I just got my tix last night and am ridiculously excited!
  11. Thanks for the link--I wasn't able to watch it live. Perhaps the song choice was a message from the band to the mixed reviews from fans: "Maybe you still love me, maybe you don't. Either you will or you won't." You know, sort of a, "this is where we are right now and we hope you're still along for the ride, but if not..." Or maybe it was for VW recognition. Either Way.
  12. My virgin post here.... I'm not a huge fan of the ballroom either, but I've got tix for the overture center in Madison which should have much better acoustics. Then about a month later I can enjoy GA at the ballroom (albeit crappy sound) and try to get/stay up close and personal to the stage. I wish they'd do the Pabst in Milwaukee--that's where Jeff did Sunken Treasure last fall.
