  1. It's fine for me--comparable to other stuff I've gotten from bt.
  2. I'm probably going to spend an unhealthy amount of time psychoanalyzing that preference.
  3. It appears to have worked--nice job.
  4. Amen. By the way, JT gave a shout out to the KC fireworks during the show in Iowa last night.
  5. NPR uses it during various shows, when they're reading letters from listeners.
  6. Agreed with all of the above. Excellent show, Pat was in rare form, Tweedy really happy... overall nice crowd. Small fire in front of me (right in front of John). But the stage guy stomped that out promptly. Honestly, a cord on one of the speakers started on fire. So I guess John was literally smokin'? (insert rim shot) Hearing Poor Places was by far the highlight for me. That was my first time hearing it live, and it was beautiful, of course. Company in my Back was nice, too. As further evidence of what good people these guys are, at the end of the second (and last) encore, a
  7. Company in my back? Nice... I'd love to hear that tonight. And I've got everything crossed for Poor Places, too. Sounds like a great show--fireworks had to be a nice touch. Glad everyone enjoyed it!
  8. Glad it was a great show! What were the soundcheck songs that didn't turn up at that show?
  9. Oooo, music majors are fun! Anyone going out after? I know it's a Sunday night and all...

    Touring

Wilco can't afford to be like REM--their records don't sell well enough for the six of them to make their living off of record sales. They're made it well known that touring is where they get the majority of their income. And when you know you're going to have to tour, then you create a schedule that allows you (and your family) to remain sane year after year. I thought their tour schedule was damn impressive, myself.
  11. I can't even get to the page--it never loads. Just white space.
  12. I'd love to get to an outdoor gig this go 'round (I curse you, chicken pox and Duluth bad luck! *shakes fist*). I hope to live vicariously through those of you who make it to KC.
  13. Welcome! (And it's okay if you're bragging about seeing them at Lounge Ax and seeing UT...that's f*ing cool)
  14. This will great--thanks! But I can't get the link to work... Oh, you count. we're slowly taking over...
  15. Sounds like a great show! I was just listening to some Golden Smog yesterday and thinking how nice it would be to see JT and Gary together again--but I was thinking it would maybe happen when Gary tours solo and goes through Chicago. I hadn't thought of the NOrthrup show! Lucky, lucky you guys. Oh, and GREAT pics!
  16. Yep, to English. I'm at Oostburg High School
  17. Yep, it was available. We didn't get close enough to the merch stand to get a good look at the print quality, but it looked good from where we were. Nice job. mardog, I"m a teacher too--English. You?
  18. Beltmann, I actually thought of you during that song. I thought, "He's going to shit." Next time!
  19. Yep, the Rave's sound still sucks. But it was still an excellent show--especially if you were getting a lot of stage sound, right against the rail. The band was in great spirits, Jeff commented that although they were coming off a 10 or 12 day break, they didn't feel like it. "It feels like there are 15 Wilcos up here!" References to it being "perfect" etc. (After which point they lost rhythm on at least one song, but hey...) Not a lot of banter from him tonight but a lot of smiling and, of course, the sans PA Someone Else's Song. (It was actually on the set list, between encores 2 and 3
  20. Isn't this thread about those who are going... to have fun... and see their favorite band? Great tips, though.
