  1. Looks like I'll be allowing time for moderate walk to the venue...
  2. countryfeedback, that is a fucking kick ass story! I'm going to read it again....
  3. Sounds like a great night! How fun for JT and everyone to be back home on a beautiful night. I hope a recording shows up soon!
  4. For many fans, being able to stand up and dance is an important component of a "great show." I'd like to think that I can listen to and enjoy the music and exceptional sound while dancing. Maybe you're annoyed with the use of the term "poser" which was probably thrown around somewhat carelessly; there are obviously wildly different expectations from fans in a crowd of that size and makeup. The notion of who "gets" the spirit of Wilco (and therefore acts accordingly at a show) is all about perspective anyway. Seems we all agree that the band sounded sensational. As for what kind of venue
  5. I'm sure the early start is because of the curfew at Millenium.
  6. Thanks for the pics--they look great. It's interesting to read how many people came away with many of the same impressions such as the power of On and On and On and the incredible sound... and flat audience. I can't wait until the next show.
  7. That is going to be a fabulous show!! Can't wait to hear all about it... have a GREAT time everyone!
  8. Mmmmm hmmmmm.... we're listening, Bbop....
  9. I also love PBPWM.... so many vivid images in that one. And I was never a fan of "On and On and On" but after seeing it live last night, I'm converted. He packs that with tightly with emotion on stage. Wow.
  10. Damn! I can't believe we missed out on Misunderstood and et cetera! I was in the 10th row, first row after the break, so there was lots of room to move around and plenty of dancing, bobbing, bouncing, fist pumping, etc. I agree on the poseurs in the crowd.... but after Jeff referenced all the empty seats down front and the fans waaaaaaaaay up high, plenty of folks came down to fill in the blank spots. Not the poseurs, but the ones there for the music and the fun. Nels was, of course, ridiculous! Hey, what was he shredding on the guitar with? A comb?! Told hubby I'd ask here. I agr
  11. Wow, WW.... sorry this became such a mess. It's ridiculous. The only person/people who can really know if THIS 8 yr old and 11 yr old are ready to be home alone for 8 hrs would be their parents. Clearly, WW doesn't believe they are. Need there be any further discussion of that? I don't have any experience with this, but maybe check out your state laws to see when your girls could choose on their own. (Although I'm sure you wouldn't want to leave the 8 yr old in joint custody alone.) Also, are you wanting to have them full time? Do you feel like this is your opportunity to pursue
  12. I know a lot of you bring your cameras and take pics--do the majority of venues allow it? I have a feeling I won't get my big DSLR into the Overture Center in Madison. And what about Eagle's Ballroom (aside from the fact that I'll have to padlock it to myself)? Just wondering what those of you with have experience have found to be true of different venues.
  13. That's too bad. I saw the Crowes about a half dozen times in the 90s and I too was always blown away. Hubby and I had considered going to see them on this tour, but I can't even imagine them without Ford. Even on paper, this has always appeared to be a last ditch, please-don't-let-us-slip-away-into-nothingness effort. Wiser Time has also always been one of my favorite songs; I hope you can remember more of the kick ass versions of it and drown out last night's.
  14. These are great to read, and thanks for the great links! I had tix to the original show but couldn't make it back last night. I saw that Nels shirt online a couple of weeks ago and considered getting it since I did "catch" his pox. So glad it was a great time in Duluth--it always is up there!
  15. I had tickets to the original show, but I can't be there tonight. Can't wait to hear about it!
  16. Hubby and I would be up for either. Before would be nicer because I have to work (teach) in the morning, but we could do a quickie (er, you know what I mean...) after. So as a newbie, can you tell me.... how do I know a VCer when I see one?
  17. Not for my love life per se, but for parts of my life in general (having moved back to my "old neighborhood" after 15 years away) Misunderstood

I've been listening to Wilco from the beginning, and so far I go between YHF and ST as my favorites, depending on my mood. ELT, Can't Stand It, She's A Jar... it's a great album.
  19. Thank you! Are you N or S of Milwaukee?
