  1. The two year old was supposed to be a cat but (in perfect two-year-old form) utterly refused to wear it. So we punted with a dress from our dress up suitcase. Princess, indeed! Our poor Shih Tzu had to be Toto. Absolutely no dignity.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. Lost in translation (via iClip).
  3. Yeah, it's a nice preview. My local station isn't broadcasting the WIlco ACL until Nov. 10.
  4. Remember to remember me Standing still in your past Floating fast like a hummingbird
  5. Wow. I haven't heard that name in well over a decade...
  6. The word "uncomfortable" came to my mind. He wasn't his usual snarky self when addressing the crowd which I think had to do with the fact that they were really far away from the audience. Maybe it was different there, but via iClips it was almost impossible to hear any crowd feedback (clapping, cheering, singing, etc.). Wilco couldn't do any of the usual crowd participation parts ("hello" "anymore!" Hummingbird stuff); there was nothing intimate about that set up. They just spent months playing to crowds of 2000 or so... seems reasonable that he'd be more inhibited in front of 100,000.
  7. That was nice.... watching that, enjoying some red wine and some great camera angles.
  8. Yep, I watched some of Common (the part where he channeled Morris Day and Jerome and called a lovely lady from the audience up on stage to have a seat while he worked his magic). Teh Wilcos are too much for one server to handle.... Maybe Nels tripped over some iClips equipment on his way on stage? Edit: post over at iClips says, "Keep trying--it will be fixed soon enough." Um, soon enough is long past.
  9. Ha. I was thinking the same thing (that's the first time I saw Wilco live--HORDE '95).
  10. looks that way--posts over at iclips indicate it's widespread.
  11. I went back to this album just recently and was thinking, "I can't believe this never got more love." And now this thread, with this disc mentioned multiple times? It's getting love somewhere! I prefer the post-Olson Jayhawks sound; I choose Sound of Lies for a full-disc listen more than any other Jayhawks' album.
  12. Love seeing new dates up!
  13. But wouldn't that be a face-saving (and, imo, reasonable) way to say it which could also be "technically" accurate? As in, there weren't enough ticket sales at those venues and there were conflicts in trying to reschedule them to smaller venues on the same night/in the same week? I can't imagine the cost of a week in the UK for the tour, and if ticket sales aren't going to make it financially viable, you probably have to cut your losses. It's sheer enjoyment for us, but for them it's business, too.
