  1. Do you'll think G'N'R are a sure bet for 2012? Irregardless of everything that has happened post-Appetite, that album and its cultural impact should make them a no brainer for the Hall, and hopefully a full-original member reunion.

As much as I hate Chinese Democracy, yes they will and should get in. After reading Slash's book I can pretty much guarantee you that the only member you will probably see there is Axl(well maybe Adler if he isn't in rehab); which will absolutely suck. The one thing about GNR that I didn't like was Axl. The man is a twat, but he owns the rights to the name so I'm sure he will make a big stink about it. If the other members are there it would probably be similar to when Blondie was inducted and Debbie Harry acted like she WAS Blondie and blew off the rest of the band.

  2. Natalie Merchant - Vocalist - Her voice is what I imagine angels sound like.

Mark Ford - Guitarist - Huge, huge, influence on my own playing.

Gil Norton - Producer - He gets the best bass sounds of any producer I have ever heard.

Dr Dre - Producer - I'm not a big rap fan but the dude if a flat out genius.

Robert Randolph - Musician - Pedal steel at it's finest.

Django Reinhart - Musician - I just want to know how he could play guitar as good as he did with only 2 fingers.

Phil Spector - Producer - The dude was a complete nut job but his albums had a grand, epic type sound to them.

Brian Wilson - Producer/musician - Pet Sounds, enough said.

  3. I go old school and just drink plain old coke.

I used to drink Diet Coke by the 1 liter but I had an unfortunate incident. I used to love the taste of Diet Coke, but I was trying to gain weight to play football. At the time I was about 5'10" and weighed roughly 120 lbs. (One a side note, go into a McDonalds, order 3 Big Macs, a supersized fry, 3 apple pies, and then when they ask you what to drink, tell them a DIET Coke. The looks you get are priceless.) Anyway trying to pack on the pounds, me and my 120lb. frame decided that it would be a great idea to eat a medium deep dish pizza with everything, and I do mean everything, on it. and wash it down with a 1 liter of diet Coke.

Needless to say, it was not a good experience afterward. Without getting too graphic, I managed to make into the bathroom but not to the proper equipment in said bathroom. You would be surprised how quickly a bathroom sink will clog up and also how ineffective Liquid Plumber can be in the aftermath.

Every since I haven't been able to drink any diet pop at all.

  4. I'll put it this way - when I tried explaining them to somebody I work with, they said, and I quote, "they sound like a bunch of fucking commies"; do I really need to say anything else?

Granted this was also the same person I once heard comparing Clinton to Hitler. :-O

  5. I did a search but couldn't find anything on it and I haven't been on a whole lot lately so I might have missed it but I just read on Pitchfork that the boys have a song on the Heroes soundtrack called Glad It's Over. Has anybody heard it at all? Here is the the link to the pitchfork article. LINK

  6. My comment was based more on his music than his personality/reputation/character. I have no doubt that he is immensely talented but I have tried in the past to get into his solo stuff but I just can't seem to get into it. I will grant that I haven't heard anything that he has done lately, maybe I will try and give it another go. As for his character, I try not to read too many articles on musicians as they are generally skewed to whichever opinion the interviewer has towards the individual artist(s). The only thing I can ever recall reading on Adams was an interview in Rolling Stone where he pretty much came off as an egotistical twat, but that being said, I took it with a grain of salt considering the source. The only Rolling Stone writer that I put any faith in is David Fricke, and although I don't recall who wrote the article because it was a couple of years ago, I'm pretty sure it wasn't Fricke.

  7. Not to step on Ction's proverbial toes, but I have a suggestion of my own-

Take how ever much your normal Wilco listening consumption is, multiply that duration by 2, then for that amount of time listen only to live Wilco recordings, whether that be KT or a recorded live show, then go back and listen to any Wilco studio album, and enjoy. It will make any studio recorded album seem fresh and new.

  8. I'm not worried about Mallett leaving so long as Pryor does come to Michigan as expected. And if he doesn't, well, we're screwed.

One ray of hope is that the QB that we have already coming in this year, Steven Threet, is a transfer from G.T.. When he committed to Georgia Tech. he was the 11th rated QB coming out of high school. He isn't much of a runner, but at least he has some talent. I do think that although it isn't a slam dunk by any stretch of the imagination, that UM has to be looking pretty good to Pryor right about now. I watched him last Saturday at the U.S. Army All American game and he looked phenomenal, he was heads and shoulders above everybody else on the field. I really hope he decides to go to UM.

  9. I don't know much of their music but a friend dl'd a few of their albums on my computer back a while ago.

Gish, Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream - any suggestions on particular tracks I should listen to/download?!?

    Thanks

I'm a fan of their Pisces Iscariot B-sides album so anything off of that. The song "Drown" from the Singles soundtrack is my favorite song of theirs. Then there is the normal choices like "Tonight, Tonight", & "Disarm"(Although I would recommend the heavier version of the song that is on their greatest hits album). Other than that I would recomend "Mayonnaise", "Bodies", or "Through the Eyes of Ruby". I will caution to stay away from anything after Mellon Collie unless you are into electronica dance type stuff. I was horribly turned off with their last couple of albums. Also, I haven't heard the new album "Zeitgeist" yet so I can't comment.

  10. 2008 BCS Prediction: Vanderbilt (5-7) inexplicably vaults over everybody to play LSU in the title game. ESPN proclaims it the best championship matchup in years.

When asked for comment about the snub, Pete Carroll responded "Hey, dude, that's not cool." and a stoic Jim Tressel praised the "mighty tough" Vanderbilt team and continued to insist that we don't need a playoff.
