  1. I didn't know what the American Idol guy was, so I went to listen on the myspace page. I think it might be worse than Nickelback.

I have never heard the Daughtry guy, but I can't think of anything worse than Nickleback. Maybe Hootie and the Blowfish. At least Hootie had the common courtesy to fall off of the face of the earth.

  2. Only takes one itchy trigger

One more widow, one less white nigger

I was gonna put that one. "Olivers Army" is my favorite EC song but I chose one from "I Wanna Be Loved" instead:

    I guess I'm a victim of loneliness

But why should this be my destiny?

A foolish man for a lot of my life

    Shouldn't there be someone

    Someone for me?

  3. Somebody please explain to me how bacon is approvable by a Vegetarian Society?

"I love pigs, they're so cute and clever. But if I was in a farmyard with the smell of fried bacon wafting across my nostrils, I swear to God I'd grab me a shotgun and a meat cleaver."

Wayne Hayes, bacon director at the Bacon Institute said: "Bacon transforms men into incredibly sensitive and generous lovers and guarantees women the longest and most intense orgasms imaginable."

And that, might I add, is freakin hilarious.

  4. Tom Petty playing the super bowl seems wrong to me. He has never come across as the "corporate" type and if I have to sit there and watch him play with all of the pomp and dancers and all of that I may need to be reallllly drunk so I don't get too disillusioned with him.

Edit* - Who the hell am I kidding I don't think I have ever watched a Super Bowl halftime show in my entire life. So rock on Tom.

  5. The more and more I look at the Tigers/Marlins trade it is growing on me. The thing that I didn't take into consideration when I initially found out who the Tigers were giving up, was the fact that both Willis and Cabrera are under 25. Being is that they are so young it is almost like they are prospects themselves, they are just proven prospects. I just hope that when it comes time for them to be free agents that the Tigers pony up the cash to keep them.

  6. Cameron Maybin - Detroit's top prospect, and one of the very best in all of baseball. Probably in the top 3.

Andrew Miller - Detroit's top pitching prospect and easily in the top 10 in pitching prospects in baseball and maybe in the top 5.

Mike Rabello - Detroit's only good catching prospect. Top 10 in Detroit's system

Euglio De La Cruz - Reliever came up last year throwing 100+. Top 10 in Tigers system.

Dallas Trahern - Good young pitcher. 12 & 6 record with a 3.87ERA in 26 starts @ 162.2 innings last year at double A. Top 10 prospect in Detroit's system.

    Burke Badenhop - 10 & 6 w/ a 3.13 ERA in 23 starts covering 135.1 innings. Once again top 10 prospect in Detroit's system.

Between those 6 players and the 2 traded for Renteria. That is 8 of the tigers top 10 prospects. The only prospects they have left are Rick Porcello, who is just behind Miller, and Jeff Larish, a left handed first basemen who hit close to 30 home runs at double a this year but also only hit around .240 with a ton of strike outs. Larish is in the bottom portion of the top ten. Hopefully the Tigers can trade either Inge or maybe Marcus Thames for some prospects to try and restock some of the system. The Tigers are hedging bets that some of their lower prospects can step up. From what I can tell the Tigers went from having a top 10 and maybe a top 5 farm system to somewhere in the lower ten in baseball. Which might not be bad this year, but if there are any injuries to the big league club, especially the pitching staff, there isn't going to be anybody available in the minor leagues to step in and help out.

  7. Disagree completely. The reason that you stockpile prospects is to pull off blockbuster trades such as this one. I would trade prospects for proven players any day. And I have yet to see a bad Dave Dombrowski deal.

    Here's the lineup:

    CF - Curtis Granderson

    2B - Placido Polanco

    DH - Gary Sheffield

    3B - Miguel Cabrera

    RF - Magglio Ordonez

    1B - Carlos Guillen

    SS - Edgar Renteria

    C - Pudge/Inge

    LF - Jacque Jones

Like the trade or not, you cannot disagree that the Tigers are infinitely better today as they were on October 1st.

I have no problem with the line-up for next year. My issue is with the line-up the year after and beyond. Sheffield and Placido are getting up there in age, not to mention Pudge. If they trade Maybin, they aren't going to have anybody to fill in when Sheffield goes and Maggs moves to DH. Rabelo was about the only decent catcher the Tigers had in their system. So when Pudge is gone next year they are fairly well screwed there. Inge was a decent catcher but he has said himself that he doesn't want to go back to catching. Also, I really don't like giving up Miller to get Willis. I mentioned before that Miller is probably better right now than Willis is. I would have rather seen Bonderman go than Miller. ESPN also just reported that one of the other prospects that Detroit is giving up is Euglio De La Cruz. another top ten prospect in the organization. Detroit was finally starting to get some depth and superstar caliber talent in the minor leagues and now between the Renteria and Marlins trades the cupboard is bare with the exception of their first round pick from the last draft, Rick Porcello. Between the 2 trades, the Tigers traded 4 of their top 5 prospects, 6 of their top 10 and there are still 2 players out there yet to be named. Yes it may help the lineup immediately next year but the future doesn't look too bright now. I agree that you stockpile prospects to get the parts you need later on, but at some point you will need some of those prospects.

  8. OK, I am a Tigers fan and if they actually do this deal will be despondent. I like Cabrerra and Willis, even though Willis had a down year lasy year. But the prospects they are giving up are way, way, way, too much. Maybin is one of the top 5 prospects in all of baseball. Miller is one of the top 10 pitching prospects in all of baseball, and probably better right now than Willis is. The only other name I know of is catching prospect Mike Rabelo. Rabelo isn't the second coming of Johnny Bench or anything but he is a good switch hitter with a decent arm and he knows how to call a game. The tigers are gutting their farm system for a pitcher that had a +5 era in the NL who will probably blow out his arm in a year or 2 because of his pitching style, and a stud 3rd basemen who can hit like nobodies business but can't feild worth a crap. Plus the reports are saying that the tigers are giving up a total of 6 prospects in the deal. Unless they plan on moving Brandon Inge, who they just signed to a 4 year deal last year, I don't even know where Cabrerra is going to play.

  9. Not very original but:

Gibby 2 It is the second Les Paul I have owned so it is fairly obvious.

Canary I named it Canary because of the They Might be Giants song "Birdhouse in Your Soul". There is a lyric in it that goes "Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch". It is my blue canary.
