  1. Atlanta radio is shitting itself.

Do ya blame them. First they trade the moon to draft a guy that even when he was playing good, never really was the savior of the franchise and in the community that everyone expected him to be. Then the whole dog fighting ordeal. Then they finally get a guy from the college ranks who can put a whole new face on the franchise and has some creativity and freshness compared to some of the old coaches they had, and then he pulls a Lou Holtz and realizes that the pro's aren't really all it was cracked up to be. Not to mention the fact that outside of, well I'm not sure who, they really don't have many great players. I would be freaked if I were a Falcons fan.

lil'Animal has a little more going on upstairs than Kat--that guy was a special breed of stupid :lol)

Ha, ha, "special breed of stupid". That is some funny chit right there. I have never heard that expression before.

  2. You know his brother is the head basketball coach at Arkansas State. Mr Dickey Nutt.

Ok, if you aren't joking, that is just cruel. What kind of parents would name their kid Dick Nutt. It's about as bad as the race car driver Dick Trickle.

  3. The Departed just kind of moves along until the last 15 to 20 minutes or so. The last quarter of the movie makes it all worthwhile. With out getting into too much detail, you are sitting there watching the movie sort of like ho-hum, ho-hum and just all of a sudden it's like...Whoa, what the fuck just happened.

I am currently watching the fluorescent lighting in my office because I have to sneeze and the shit will not happen.

  4. So tell us Sooie, you are our resident Arkansas fanatic, do you like the hiring? I think it is good for the 'Backs. I was listing to ESPN driving into work and when they first announced he was leaving the Falcons it seemed like they took forever before they mentioned it was for Arkansas. I was praying they were going to say Michigan. I just want the UM coaching search to be over. The longer it goes on, the more and more embarrassing it is getting for UM.

  5. That's what Clara Jane does, too. Except she'll say, "Mom, don't say 'shit'." Or whatever inappropriate word I've used. I'm not sure where she learned what words I shouldn't be saying. Not from me, obviously. :shifty

Today, we were at Target, and she was talking about eating marshmallows. As we rounded a corner she announced, "I love to eat marshmallows. I love when they come in my mouth." There was an older woman who looked like she might have a heart attack. I wanted to tell her, "That's not what she meant!", but it seemed pointless. Besides, I didn't want to draw attention to what was said so that Clara Jane would latch onto it. I just said, "Yep, it's fun to eat marshmallows."

    Ouch, that one hurts.

  6. Me no likey the prospect of those 3 projected underclassmen coming from the OSU defense (Laurinaitis/Jenkins/Gholston). The D could be insanely good next year if everybody came back, but I guess its not very realistic to hope for that--especially with them making it to the championship game this year. I sure hope they make the most of the opportunity this year...

Out of the 3 the only one I think has any shot at returning is Laurinaitis. I think Jenkins and Gholston are gone. The only reason I think Laurinaitis might stay is because I have read, and I can't remember where, that his mom was pushing really hard for him to stay and graduate. Besides all he probably needs to graduate is Golf and Aids Awareness. I think they are being taught by Andy Katzenmoyer. :D Also, I'm going to apologize if I murdered the spelling of Laurinaitis' name.

  7. I didn't even realize that the Lemonheads were back together again. Last I knew, Dando was doing his obligatory, post rehab, introspective solo stuff. Is it actually some of the old members of the LH's with Dando or is he just trying to cash in on the name like Billy Corgan is doing with the Smashing Pumpkins? That being said, I wouldn't mind going but unfortunaltly I only get to go to a show every couple of years and I used my allotment on Wilco back in December.

  8. OK, I'm sure I'm not the only person to experience this but, our entire family was over at our in-laws house this past weekend. While we were there my 5 year old son was playing a video game with some of his older siblings and their cousins. They were playing some sort of game where the character is apparently chased by the police. The adults were in the next room having civilized conversations when I hear my son call for me from the room. I got up, looked in the room and asked him what he needed and at the top of his lungs, more than loud enough for every person in the house to hear, my son tells me that he has to "get away" because, and I quote "THE PO-PO IS ON HIS ASS". At that point I inexplicably burst into laughter along with every child in the house. My in-laws were in awe to say the least. Once I gathered myself I promptly told him that what he said was a bad word and then I told my older 2 sons, who I'm sure my 5 year old heard it from, that they really needed to watch what they say around him. So needless to say my in-laws are whole heartedly convinced that I am a bad parent, not just for him saying what he said, but also for me laughing about what he said.

  9. "Won't Walk Away," an about-as-awesome-as-Nelson-will-ever-get pop-rock cheese fest that answers the age old question, "what would it sound like if The Replacements were gang raped by Styx?"

I think I actually peed myself a little bit when I read this. I am so glad there is nobody in the office right now wondering why I am laughing uncontrollably. Thank you so very much for this article. It has truly made my day.

  10. Any suggestions?

Was thinking about taking him down to the GUITAR CENTEr and get some advice there...

You can get a good Mexican made Fender Strat for about 300 to 350 dollars. I bought one a little while back just to play around with a Strat and didn't want to pay a grand for an American made one and I really like it. My brother in law had an American made one and if somebody wasn't really experienced with guitars they probably couldn't tell a whole lot of difference between the 2. It really all depends on the amount of money you want to spend. Also, my first electric guitar was a Ibanex AX30. It was a good guitar. I gave it to the same brother in law for his graduation present 3 years ago and he still plays it. The only one I wouldn't recommend is any of the Epiphone Les Paul's. Maybe it is because I love my Gibson LP so much, but the Epiphone ones that I have played seem really cheap to me. I have also heard complaints that they don't stay in tune. The action is really high on them and you can adjust it down a bit but you have to be careful doing it because you can get into some fret buzz. So after all of my rambling, to sum it up here are my recomendations for the price ranges:

200 to 500 - Mexican made Strat, Gibson Melody Maker, or a Yamaha AES 420

    500 to 700 - PRS Soapbar 2, or a Schecter C-1 Plus, also a Gibson SG Special.

700 and up - You might as well go for an American made Strat or a Gibson Les Paul Studio. The LP Studio is my personal favorite but that is just because the one I have is the one guitar I have ever picked up that felt like it was made to be in my hands.

  11. Nah ... this just lets McFadden avoid the Heisman Curse. I think he'll have a pretty solid NFL career ... can the same be said for Tebow?

Tebow isn't an NFL QB. He doesn't have the accuracy. Maybe if he stays in college for the full 4 years he may be able to develop but I am kind of doubting it. He reminds me of a little bit faster version of Troy Smith.

  12. This list feels more like "the most popular band".

I was thinking the same thing. There are so many variations and styles of music that it is impossible to say who is the best. Personally the only band that I would include out of the original list is the Beatles. I can't stand the Stones and Pink Floyd is OK. Also Radiohead is ok but not anywhere near a hundred or so other bands of the same time.

  13. VINEA (Soft Drink) - San Carlo Canavese

    1. Maricopa

    2. Captivity

    3. Baron Penzance

    4. State Court

    5. 2003 El Nogal Club Bombing

    6. Hedley Hill

    7. Vladimir Petrov

    8. Mad House Records

    9. Topaza

    10. Regional Government of Peru

    11. Charlotte Rt. 4

    12. XF-84H ThunderScreech

Vinea is a band that started out as a studio band put together by the record label Mad House Records to back many influential Reggae singers of the 1980's. The band had disappeared into obscurity after their bus got lost on the way to a show in Peru in early 2003. As it turns out the band was arrested on suspicion of a night club bombing. After being held and falsely charged with a crime they didn't commit, they managed to escape their captors with the help of some individuals who only want to be referred to as Face, B.A. and Murdock. After traveling the world with their new companions as mercenaries for hire, Vinea decided to emigrate back to the United States and record an album based on their experiences, and so San Carlo Canavese was born. Although revered by critics and fellow musicians for it's musical exploration of reggae and it's hard driving political message, San Carlo Canavese, went virtually unnoticed until the song "XF-84H ThunderScreech" was picked up for the soundtrack of the amateur adult film by "Saved By the Bell" star - Dustin Diamond. Diamond was asked why he chose "ThunderScreech" for his movie, and he replied " it seemed like the song was written just for me". After Vinea won multiple Grammy's for ThunderScreech, the band has been in high demand for the soundtracks of other celebrity amateur adult films. The next release for Vinea is a full length soundtrack for the amateur adult film "The Penguin Rides Again" starring real life husband and wife team Danny Devitio and Rhea Pearlman with cameos from William Shatner and Bob Saget. After touring the world for the release of The Penguin Rides again, the band has expressed an interest in making a children's album.
