  1. Saw these guys (and gal) in concert in Tampa back in 1993 or 94. Great show by a great band. They gave me a hard time for buying a Play Cell cassette from them instead of vinyl. I also bought a t-shirt from them. "Crying Jag" is still one of my favorite punk song ever. I still love a lot of those old Lookout! bands from the late 80sarly 90s, especially Crimpshrine. That stuff has aged well in my opinion.

I saw them in 94 or 95 in Pensacola Florida. I was the only one of my friends who had actually heard of them and I could only get one of my friends to go. After the show my friend bought a CD and went over and had the singer, Cinder Block, sign it. I didn't do it because I was trying to act all cool because I had a huge crush on the singer and didn't want her to think I was a dork by asking for her autograph. Anyway, after the show my friend, James, showed me the CD and Cinder wrote on it that she thought that he was cute. I was so pissed and jealous. To top it off, about a year or so ago I ended up getting Cinder's e-mail address somehow and I emailed her about a show that her new band, Retching Red, was putting on. In the e-mail I relayed to her the story I just mentioned and her exact response was "Aw, that's sweet. I'm sure I thought that you were cute too". There's nothing like getting delayed pity for something that happened 12 years ago.

  2. I feel pretty blessed that most of my favorite bands couldn't sell out a telephone booth when I cared about seeing them live.

I'm right there with ya. The only draw back is I have to travel half way around the world to see somebody I like because nobody I like plays anywhere around where I live.

  3. Well this is more of a Santa/Reindeer story. But when I was a little kid, probably around 7 or 8, everybody had gone to my grandmas house for a Christmas Eve thing. Two of my uncles came in the house and about 5 minutes later there was this banging on the roof. Of course all of us kids started screaming that it was Santa. Next thing we know my uncle Chuck grabs a shotgun and says I'll go see what it is. He walks outside, and we hear a couple of gunshots. My uncle starts screaming so everybody runs out onto the front porch, and sitting in the front yard just in front of the porch is a dead deer. My uncle jumps up and says "oh no I think I just shot Rudolph". Needless to say all of us kids just fucking lose it. We are whaling and crying and screaming. My mom was pissed and yelling at my uncle because apparently, either that day or the previous day, a couple of my uncles had gone hunting and thought it would be a funny joke to play. All of us kids were scarred for life.

  4.

If this were true, and I were WV, I would run as far away as possible. I would change the phone numbers, lock all of the doors, close all of the blinds and pretend like nobodies home if I were WV and Saban came a calling. Could you imagine the P.R. shit storm it wold create?

If UM is on his list specifically because he prefers the wide open style of Rodriguez's offense, I don't see how OSU fits into his plans at all. Just my opinion. I'm not holding my breath for this guy in Columbus.

The thing with Pryor is that he wantds to play B-Ball too. I know that Tressell and Matta have already gotten together and told him that he could do it at OSU. Whether Beilen would help his fellow Mountaineer out and tell R.R. that Pryor could do the same for UM is another story.

  5. Double Yes.

Terrelle Pryor has replaced West Virginia with UM on his final list of choices. Pryor is the 3rd overall recruit on ESPN and the top recruit on both Rivals and Scout.com. He would go a long way towards helping UM convert to the spread offense. From everything I have read, it seems like it was Ohio State and West Virginia leading the way. Hopefully now that UM took over W.V.'s spot, maybe UM can steal him away from OSU. Here is the link to the story at Rivals.com.

    Rivals.Com

  6. I don't mind having Rodriguez as the coach. The only thing I take issue with, is that Michigan is not set up, personnel wise, to run the spread offense. Michigan does not have the QB or the RB's to run the system. If I was Ryan Mallet I would be seeing if I could get Pete Carrolls phone number as soon as possible. Ok, I lied that isn't the only thing I take issue with, there are 2 other things also. First, when is the last time you have ever heard of a big time recruit going to W.V.? I'm not too sure how good of a recruiter Rich is. The second thing I take issue with, is that I can never remember looking at a Rich Rodriguez led team and went "Wow, that is a great Defense". I would like to think that Michigan prides itself on defense, which is why this past season has really hurt. So, all that being said, I think that in the long run, the hiring will work out ok. But, I wouldn't look for UM to have a really good next couple of seasons until RR can get the type of players he needs to run his scheme.

  7. i've always thought every show should open with Airline to heaven. jeff starting off solo with the rest of the band clapping their hands in the air and slowly coming into it verse by verse

    I could not agree more.

    1. Box Full Of Letters. I know it isn't one of the rarer tracks but it has sentimental value to me. It was the first time I ever heard Wilco and it was during, well let's just say I was becoming a man at the time if you get my drift.

    2. Airline to Heaven. It is my favorite track on KT. The slide guitar is phenomenal. As much as he gets praised for his normal guitar playing, I think Nels' slide playing is the best thing he has brought to the band. He is a very underrated slide player.

    3. The Lonely 1. The show could start out with just Nels', Jeff and Mikael.

    4. Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway (Again). Before I die I have to hear them play this song live. For some reason I can't help but think that it should have been written for The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

    5. A Magazine Called Sunset. I just want to see who would be rocking out on the xylophone.

  8. alright seriously, what's the deal with blade runner.

i'm a big noir fan. and here lately i've been getting into alot of neo-noir.

harrison ford is pretty much my hero. i can watch all 3 indiana jones back to back to back to back to back for the rest of my life and be happy.

blade runner sounded so badass, but it was such a let down.

Blade Runner was the type of movie that in it's time was phenomenal. But if you watch it now you are just sort of like ehh. It is a lot like the original Dune movie. When that movie came out it was the shit. The visual and especially the sound effects kicked ass, the story line was great, good acting etc. Yet if you watch it now it just sort of comes off as a bit cheesy. After reading the book I have a hard time watching it just for storyline purposes, but that is for a whole other thread.
