So, so very sorry. Love and strength to your entire family.

Very cool. Those old acoustic archtops have such a unique sound. Not great for everything, but when it's right, it's dead-on. Love it.

Guess I was looking for Thinking of Empire, in particular. Seems to be the classic. But yeah, I do see copies of a couple other ones.

And I am not buying one until the kids are out of the house. I would love to, but I ain't. If you happen across a CD copy online somewhere or even a DL, let me know. (I've looked for both, but just over the last day or so.)

Oh yeah, Ficca is amazing. I saw them on that 92 tour, as well and was duly impressed. I also agree that he would be hard to replace. Maybe it's because I'm a guitar player and you're a drummer that we are not agreeing on this point. And, for the record: I think that Verlaine's sublime guitar solo on "Marquee Moon" belongs every bit as much to Ficca as it does to Verlaine. When you really listen to it, you can hear Verlaine being egged on by the rest of the band, and the drums in particular.
-
Normally neither can I. But for me, and many others I think, what made Television Television was the interplay and chemistry between Lloyd and Verlaine. I mean, as incredible as Ficca and Smith are, I do think that they can be replaced and you will still have Television. But not Lloyd. Not being a purist snob, here. Just calling it as I see it.
-
You ever seen them live with Lloyd? Trust me on this one.
-
Sorry, then this is not Television.

Yeah, I know that I might be sniffing my own farts again, but a friend just dropped their name, raving about them. I investigated over at AllMusic and THEY dropped comparisons to Television/Wire/Minutemen/Black Flag. I think I need this but it is totally out of print and unavailable through traditional outlets that I have found. Anyone help a brother out? ALLMUSIC REVIEW Sounds like the 80's underground. I dig it.

All I have is a TurboRAT. And I love it. Glad to see you incorporate one into your board. So nasty. (Even though I know yours isn't the Turbo, still...)

I know it's cheezy, but I always liked this song. EDIT: It's even cheezier than I remember!

Can be explicit, naming them by name. Or, a bit more vague like this awesome Descendents song:
