  1. No Skunk is the guy w/ the glasses and the huge moustache, and he's on lead guitar. And, that's my point, the camera is not on him during the solo.
  2. Sucks that for half of his guitar solo, the camera wasn't even on Skunk Baxter.
  3. Yes, and no. They are both lumped into "reggae", so don't avoid Toots because of Marley. Or, the other way around, either. And, 100% agree with GtrPlyr about The Harder They Come soundtrack. I think that one is impossible not to love.
  4. So then the government should not BAN gay marriage, either. Period. Get out altogether.
  5. Agreed. Which is why, I suppose, the whole nostalgia for the 90's has kinda taken me by surprise. Seems unnecessary.
  6. I HIGHLY recommend Toots and the Maytals. Like them a lot more than any Marley. Esp. the two-fer of Funky Kingston/In the Dark -- the most soulful music this side of Otis Redding. In fact, the Redding comparisons are by no means out of bounds. What a voice!

  8. First Yuck and now these guys. I'm starting to feel like my parents. Damn.
  9. I can't believe that I forgot this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GHpqrSnXos
  10. The first Dylan album I was able to actually ENJOY, as opposed to just appreciating. Yeah. Great album.
  11. I disagree. "You Still Believe In Me" and "God Only Knows" But I do love "Don't Worry Baby".
  12. The musical sophistication on display is more than just "the sound" it's the whole content. Things like the swelling harmonies on "You Still Believe In Me". The sheer gorgeousness of "God Only Knows" (which is a particularly sophisticated composition, by the way). And, as a frothing Pet Sounds advocate, I still say that, even with those isolated examples of transcendental beauty, the whole is still greater than the sum of its parts. That said, there is no need for anyone to ever apologize for "not getting" something. You like what you like and you set the rest aside. I'm sure that there are
  13. That was the first thing that I thought of when I saw that Sharon Van Etten album cover, too.
  14. Of course it's unconstitutional. It's an issue of civil rights and government getting involved in what should be a religious issue. http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/02/07/146526143/prop-8?sc=nl&cc=brk-20120207-1304 I fully expect the Supreme Court to overturn this, as well. States rights do NOT supercede an individual's civil rights, motherfuckers.
  15. Also, listening to current mixes for a solo/acoustic EP that I am making.
  16. Radiohead. I mean, I get it. I just don't get it.
