  1. Wow. My first-ever concert in 1987 was U2 with opening act Lone Justice. Haven't thought of Maria McKee since around that time.
  2. Yeah, my cousin is an attorney and I just got a hold of her. She explained it to me, and it seems to be exactly what I thought that it was. Now, I just need to decide if it's a risk that I want to take. (I keep the rights to my song, but they can do with is whatever they want, without ever paying me.)
  3. My favorite veggie spot is AMITABUL: AMITABUL"]http://amitabulchicago.com Creative, tasty vegan food that doesn't leave this carnivore missing the meat. Definitely try the Soy Pancakes. No, they are not sweet breakfast-style pancakes, they are crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside beauts with shredded veggies mixed in. Served over rice. Top 'em with the watery plum sauce and the spicy miso paste and it is heaven!
  4. Not looking to negotiate. Just looking to see whether or not I SHOULD sign.
  5. A song of mine won a contest and I may have a couple of issues with a couple of the clauses in the release form. If you could contact me, I would love to hear what you think. Thanks.
  6. and then a few more that I have to post separately...
  7. Would love to see No Man. And... is Mission of Burma doing anything these days?
  8. Most anticipating my own release. But other than that: Alex Chilton Magnetic Fields GBV
  9. One of my favorite songs of the 'aughts. And there's a fan-made video that is just about the cutest thing that I've ever seen:
  10. The first (only) time I saw fIREHOSE, Uncle Tupelo opened for them. How's that for a twin bill?
  11. Saw them once and they were good, but only played for about 1/2 hour. And they were the headliners. Hopefully they'll extend their set a bit these days.
  12. I agree. I actually think that those characters were the weak link in the movie, though; really the only weak thing about the film. So, the weakness of that last scene didn't really shock me by that point.
  13. And hopefully a swing through the Midwest. This is good news.
  14. Played on nothing but toys. But it's not a conceit that comes off as mere gimmickery, this is a fucking GREAT record. Includes a brilliant cover of the Doobies' "What a Fool Believes" that is, I think, one of the great covers of all-time. And, I'm not just being hyperbolic. WITNESS:
  15. My youngest is very allergic to cats and dogs but wanted a pet, so, we got a bearded dragon. His name is "Poopie Von Poopie" and he's pretty cool. At first, until you get the hang of regulating the temperature in the enclosure, it's a lot more difficult to take care of one of these guys than you might think. But then, once you get it right in there, it's not so bad. He eats greens, berries, and live crickets (which we have to keep in a separate enclosure, and feed their own food) just once a day. His poop is pretty nasty, but he only goes a couple of times a week, so it's not too terrible. My
