  1. How is this? I've only been just getting into Jenny Lewis. Just coming to realize her genius. And I have not yet heard this one.
  2. I've still gotta mix it. And, there is a harmonica solo that still needs to be laid down, too. Hell, there's only been 2 sessions so far. I don't want to go back and listen to it and hear nothing but the things that I wish were different (like I do with my previous releases). Not gonna rush it. Still, it shouldn't take too long.
  3. I (may have) finished tracking for the acoustic EP. Listening back to the reference mixes today and trying to figure out whether or not I am actually done, of if (what) things need to be re-done, than... what?
  4. Oh, and also: Brinsley Schwarz - It's All Over Now (If anyone can find an image that's usable in this forum, that would be cool.)
  5. Well, all of them. But I was referring to the new one.
  6. Not a huge listener to hip-hop or rap, but I do listen to it a bit. Love a lot of the old-school stuff. And, yeah, the Kanye West record is also great. But recently, my kids have me listening to some of the newer artists. And, while a lot of it is crap, I have been listening to and loving these albums: The Nicki Manaj, in particular is flooring me. I just love the way that she sounds; she gets into this voice every now and then that is genuinely scary. But in a really freaking cool, sexy kinda way. The B.O.B. record is surprisingly hooky, some some really great melodies and actual composit
  7. Yes, this song IS going through my head today: Stay safe, Londoners. Love and safe wishes to you all.
  8. New live album coming out. Hadn't heard a thing about this one, but it has me really excited. First off, I've heard of the legend of their live shows. Second, the tracklisting is freaking HOT: 1. Sweet Little Lisa 2. So It Goes 3. I Knew The Bride 4. Queen Of Hearts 5. Switchboard Susan 6. Trouble Boys 7. Teacher Teacher 8. Girls Talk 9. 3 Time Loser 10. You Ain't Nothin' But Fine 11. Crawling From The Wreckage 12. Let It Rock 13. I Hear You Knocking 14. They Called It Rock 15. Ju Ju Man 16. Let's Talk About Us Looks like I'm gonna have to spend some more money that I don't have. Oh well.
  9. Probably every bit as good as the film. Loving it!!! EDIT: Also, thrilled to find out that William Goldman grew up in the same town that I am from. Not many things make me proud to say that I am from Highland Park, IL, but this, along with the fact that it is the birthplace of the Steppenwolf Theater, do make me proud.
  10. Oh, another one was Uncle Tupelo in 1989. Thing is, I cannot remember the exact song (I think that it was either "Whiskey Bottle" or "Graveyard Shift"), because I had never heard the band before and was unfamiliar with their songs. But I do remember that my jaw dropped and that my life changed that evening. Literally. Jeff, if you read this board and remember the set list from Halloween,1989 at the Blue Note (opening for fIREHOSE), could you let me know? Seriously, it was at that moment that I gave up on trying to be a great guitar player, and began thinking about songwriting.
  11. Primal Scream, 1995: "Jailbird" Not my favorite band, but when they took the stage with that song, they WERE my favorite band, of all time. At least for those 5-6 minutes.
  12. Looks like the Sonor logo on the front of that rack tom. Nice.
