Recently this one has been doing it for me, too: Jenny & Johnny - I'm Having Fun Now It's everything that the Best Coast album promised to be, but just couldn't quite deliver on a consistent level throughout the entire album. This one does it.

Super 8 Excellent entertainment. Although, I have to say that, in the 2 days since I have seen it, it is not really sticking with me in the way that the best movies do. I don't find myself thinking about the flick much. And, there are also no truly memorable individual scenes that I keep coming back to. Nonetheless, if you catch a matinee, it's a really good way to kill a couple of hours on a rainy summer afternoon.

Maybe they're among your all-time favorites, maybe not. Maybe they're a guilty pleasure, or maybe they're critically acclaimed classics. But whatever... which albums never fail to put you into a really GOOD MOOD? I was looking at my "NP" today and realized that both of these albums always bring a smile to my face. Always. So much fun and so much... yay!!!! You?

Melted was one of my favorite albums of 2010, and I had no idea that he had another one coming out so soon. So, I am excited to hear this one. Has anyone heard this? Anyway, this is the AllMusic thing: Thoughts? Opinions?

So I debuted this song last night at an open mic, despite the fact that I have not yet had the time to really finish the thing. I just wanted to see how people responded to it. It got a pretty good response. Very encouraging.

I wound up going and got there just in time to beat the weather. Probably would have been good to stay home last night, but had a good time anyway. Next time some of y'all should come out. I heard some pretty amazing things last night (and a couple of horrible things too, of course).

I am going to go hang out and play at the Fitzgerald's open mic tonight in Berwyn. It's at 6615 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Berwyn and I would love to meet some of you. The reason that I post this in here is because I am not promoting anything (other than a get-together). And, it is an open invite for anyone who wants to play or just hang out. I have nothing to do with the club or the open mic, other than trying to get on the list tonight. Sign-up begins around 7:30 or 8, I think. And, according to the web site, the performances start somewhere around 9. Just a callout for a meetup of Chicago-ar
