New live album coming out. Hadn't heard a thing about this one, but it has me really excited. First off, I've heard of the legend of their live shows. Second, the tracklisting is freaking HOT: 1. Sweet Little Lisa 2. So It Goes 3. I Knew The Bride 4. Queen Of Hearts 5. Switchboard Susan 6. Trouble Boys 7. Teacher Teacher 8. Girls Talk 9. 3 Time Loser 10. You Ain't Nothin' But Fine 11. Crawling From The Wreckage 12. Let It Rock 13. I Hear You Knocking 14. They Called It Rock 15. Ju Ju Man 16. Let's Talk About Us Looks like I'm gonna have to spend some more money that I don't have. Oh well.

Probably every bit as good as the film. Loving it!!! EDIT: Also, thrilled to find out that William Goldman grew up in the same town that I am from. Not many things make me proud to say that I am from Highland Park, IL, but this, along with the fact that it is the birthplace of the Steppenwolf Theater, do make me proud.

Your favorite concert openings, enterances ever?
PopTodd replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Oh, another one was Uncle Tupelo in 1989. Thing is, I cannot remember the exact song (I think that it was either "Whiskey Bottle" or "Graveyard Shift"), because I had never heard the band before and was unfamiliar with their songs. But I do remember that my jaw dropped and that my life changed that evening. Literally. Jeff, if you read this board and remember the set list from Halloween,1989 at the Blue Note (opening for fIREHOSE), could you let me know? Seriously, it was at that moment that I gave up on trying to be a great guitar player, and began thinking about songwriting. -

Primal Scream, 1995: "Jailbird" Not my favorite band, but when they took the stage with that song, they WERE my favorite band, of all time. At least for those 5-6 minutes. -
Looks like the Sonor logo on the front of that rack tom. Nice.

Forget Five Guys, these burgers are the freaking bomb! http://www.tomandeddies.com/signature-burgers.html Check out the "Ampersand". And, their tuna burger and veggie burger also look delicious! Right now, they just have a few locations around the Chicago area, but it seems like they have cash to burn (both are former McDonald's execs) and will probably go regional, if not national before very long. Damn good stuff.

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
PopTodd replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Last night, the family and I went for something like the 4th time to see That's Weird, Grandma Still one of the very best shows in town. If you are in Chicago on a Monday night, I cannot recommend this show highly enough, especially if you are travelling with kids. Here's the deal: Teachers and actors travel to different schools in the CPS to teach a 6-week creative writing workshop. At the end of the session, they take the students' writings and create short skits from them. They perform them for the students at the school, and then, every Monday night, they perform selections from these -
Glad that you dug it! It is a new favorite of mine.

He thought it was hilariously awful. As he should. -
Can't see the image. What album is it?

Wrong. (Maybe about the video, but not about Prince.)
