As a bump, and a piece of new info: Dude has a new album out. And he's offering it FOR FREE, as a download. Follow the (kinda confusing) links from his site. I have yet to give it a listen, but I do appreciate the giveaway. Hopefully it'll work out for him. Go, Léo, Go!!!

1988 Squire Strat (tweaked 9 ways to Sunday): through a 1997 Peavey Delta Blues 1 x 15" My only "effect" is a TurboRAT that I use for solos: So, so, so nasty-sounding. My acoustic is a 1993 Epiphone EO-1 And I just picked up a cheap Regal wood-body resonator guitar:

You got a link for that one?

And, for $0.76: Tom Zé - Estuando o Pagode One of my favorite albums of the decade, and proof that the guy is still as insane and adventurous in his 70's as he ever was!
-
Also found for $0.01: Cibo Matto - Viva! La Woman It's not as good as I remember it. Kinda annoying, actually. But, I think there might be some fans here.

Periodically, I'll run across an album at Amazon that somebody just can't get rid of, so you can get it for pretty much just the cost of shipping. Periodically, these albums will be pretty darned worthwhile, if not downright excellent. This will be the thread Obner shares what such bargains are out there. I'll start: Wolfgang Press - Queer A goth-pop band with some electronic elements: think of a brooding baritone like Nick Cave or Peter Murphy fronting a beat-heavy, sample-happy band like Deee-Lite, and that's pretty much what you'll get. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Recommendation #2: Circle C

I had one of these. In fact it was IDENTICAL -- except with a metallic blue finish (and matching-colored pickups). Sold it back in 1997 for $100. I only paid $50 for it a few years earlier, so I made a 100% profit on it, but still... how much is something like this going for these days? Oh, and I hated playing the damn thing. It had a neck like a baseball bat, was light as a feather, and would NOT stay in-tune. (Really crappy tuners.) Still, a mistake given the market? It's a 1965 Harmony-built Silvertone.

Just coming here to report the same sad story. RIP, big guy. Hopefully Johnny saved him the seat next to him in the afterlife.

rough mixes. And, while I do keep hearing things to fix, it doesn't stop sounding really, really damn good. I can't wait to finish this mother.

Stranger things have happened. (Like Silverchair blowing me away with their last one.)
