This is some friends of mine (who are also on the same label that I am): I like this a lot.
-
Also, just about any album cover from any 4AD band during the 1990's.

Guess again. It's not lips. Oh, and here's an obvious one that we all take for granted:

mod edit: sorry, this one's just not worth arguing over

iTunes most recent: O C

Yeah, I know that it's an homage to the Elvis album, but still this photo is the greatest.

Sounds improbable and kinda gross, when you talk about it. But it's pretty wonderful when it actually gets into your mouth.
-
Understandably so.

He was just a kid. Look at him.

Okay, here's another one. I, for one, am a John Cale guy. I find his solo stuff to be infinitely more varied, stylistically and more interesting, as well. He's not a "street poet" like Lou, but when he strives to poetry, his is of a more studied, literate type. And yet, he still has tunes that can tear your face off. Nothing against Lou, who I like, but John is unendingly interesting and engaging. Plus, Paris, 1919 is one of my all-time favorite albums.

I am also a fan of The Apples In Stereo, The Minders, and a few other E6 bands as well. But yeah, that album will overshadow everything else that every other E6 band ever did, no doubt about it. And for good reason. (Although On Avery Island stands up pretty well, too.)

Seems like most folks feel very strongly about NMH one way or another -- they love 'em or hate them. Very few fall in the middle (but I do know a few who do). So, in the interest of finding out which way this board swings, let's take a vote, for the purely quantitative numbers. Me: No band makes me feel the way they do. In the Aeroplane... is one of the most-perfect albums ever and is, for me, as close to a wholly spiritual experience that listening to music can be.

I loves me some fried matzo (a.k.a. Matzo braie). How you eat yours? Onions or no? Do you put jelly on yours? What flavor. I go: with onions, with grape jelly (strawberry in a pinch is almost as good)

Okay, I listened to your song. And while I cannot download it (I'm at work), I liked it. Now you listen to me! Hope you enjoy it, as well. (PS - I forgive you your shameless self-promo. I've been known to do a little myself! )

My friend has a song being used in the show -- "Trust Me"

I survived my visits up to him unscathed and no worse for the wear. But there is no telling what lurks beneath that calm exterior. -
So, I'm pretty sure that I mentioned my friend John on here before. He goes by the nom de band "Happy Ashtray". Anyway, I think he's a pretty amazing musician (and not just because he's a friend; he's also a perennial favorite of Richard Milne here on WXRT in Chicago). I got this from him in my email today: Go, John, go!!!

Pre-S/T Velvets, I think yes. And, maybe some solo John Cale, too. ("Gun")
-
Yeah. That and a lot of the Birthday Party stuff.
-
I was on the fence about him, too.
