  1. I like Radiohead okay, but I'm not a huge fan. Still, I won this from a radio station, so I'm giving it a listen and will probably keep it. Why not? It's not bad.
  2. Happy Ashtray - "Smothered In Hugs" (Guided By Voices)
  3. Today, for me I have leftovers from yesterday (The Byrds and Love), with the addition of: Radiohead - Best Of (2-disc limited ed.) I love how frank the liner notes are in discussing how badly the first disc was panned.
  4. Radiohead doing: Brian Eno - "St. Elmo's Fire"
  5. I'll bite! (Some say that I already do.)
  6. I have no video camera these days. But he was very good with the little ones.
  7. Whatta cutie pie! Good karma for you and your family, indeed. Many happy years with your new Noodle. And may your cat learn to love him as quickly as you all have.
  8. Yeah, at the Old Town School Folk & Roots Fest last week, in the kids' tent, there was "Live Band Karaoke, with John Langford and Friends". Seeing the old punk play "Twinkle Twinkle" behind a bunch of 5 and 6-year olds was pretty bizarre. My kids got up and sang "Yellow Submarine" together, but I told them to request (the old Mekons tune) "Memphis, Egypt" instead. They told him, Langford looked at me, smiled and said, "Now that would be interesting!" It would have been, too.
  9. I certainly wouldn't start with it, but I did want to mention that I enjoy the hell out of Surprise, which came out just a couple of years ago. Produced by Brian Eno, too (so that was the hook for me, in the first place).
  10. Charlie Parker - Jazz Masters 15 Flatt & Scruggs - Songs Of the Famous Carter Family Mekons - Rock 'n' Roll The Byrds - Sweetheart Of the Radio Love - Love
  11. I know that I might be mocked for saying so, but this is a pretty great album. I could say that it was before he cheezed out, and it was. But we all know that he was most-likely a cheezeball from the start. Still, it was a centerpiece of my childhood listening and the title track is great. And, "Moving Out", "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant", "Always a Woman"... are some of the best songs he ever wrote. And "Only the Good Die Young" is the best. Anyone else here have some love for this? Show me the love...
  12. Teenage Fanclub - "Is This Music?"
  13. "Bye Bye Bye" just came up on random and... DAMN were these guys good!!! Jellyfish were a perfect pop band: simply an undeniable truth.
  14. At first blush, it does seem very sad. In fact, that was my first reaction, too. But, as long as they're still putting out the albums that they want to put out... it's gotta be better than seeing them at The World in Tinley Park -- or the Aragon. Plus, you know, Gen X are all hovering around middle age now, anyway.
  15. I thought that I posted about this already, but I did a search on him and was kicked out because the words were less than 3 letters long. But, to answer your question, it's because he's amazing. And the search function sucks.
  16. Odd. Didn't go to my 10-year, as it seemed too soon. But I will be going to this one, with my wife (who did not go to the same HS as I did). Kinda excited, but weirded out.
  17. The Sea & Cake - Everybody Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back Judas Priest - Living Afer Midnight (Best Of) Zippperelli and His Orchestra - Zippy Is For Lovers (an old mix from a friend)
  18. Now streaming for the rest of the day
  19. So, whaddaya think of that one?
