Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
PopTodd replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I think that I should add here that Oak Park is a pretty nifty little place just west of the city. It was home to both Frank Lloyd Wright and Ernest Hemmingway, and there are plenty of things in that little town that should keep you busy for the day... Unity Temple (where I am now a member), Frank Lloyd Wright home & studio, and a couple of Papa's haunts. Also, the downtown area there has several good little restaurants. Okay. Thanks. -
Oh yeah... Magnetic Fields

So... going tonight. And she is touring with her husband, Shane Nicholson. Honestly, the two of them singing together sound quite a bit like Gram and Emmylou; really great harmonies. And the new songs sound really good. I am definitely looking forward to this.

Sorry. And sorry for me. I couldn't get on to it at work on my Mac. And now I'll have to wait for my wife to let me use her Mac Book sometime this weekend, if I can. I still want to hear it.

Well then, it didn't hurt those old records.

I like her. Martinis and Bikinis is a great record. And, you know, when you're married to one of the best producers in rock (T-Bone Burnett), that helps a bit, too. Of course, you gotta have great songs to start with, and she does.
