  1. I was just assigned their new album to review for The Active Listener. Just gave it a quick scan, but not even a real full listen yet, but it sounds pretty cool. Can't wait to really dig in!
  2. Actually, that's 9! But it's cool every time! I made a Soundcloud playlist of all of them just so I could give myself an ego boost when I'm feeling down: https://soundcloud.com/poptodd/sets/todd-covered
  3. A band that I met at another site did a wonderful take on my song "And To Think..." and just posted it their page at that site: "And To Think... (performed by BEATLESEX)" by Hop On Pop"A wonderful version, pulling out a lot of those Beatlesque parts of the song (as you would expect from their name). Loving the arrangement and the performance.Always a huge honor when another band wants to do one of my songs. Here is the original, if you want to hear it for comparison.
  4. Born in '70. I remember the 1976 presidential election. I mean, I was alive during Watergate, but was completely clueless at the time that it was going on.
  5. Also, The Housemartins. Bought London 0 Hull 4 at a library sale a couple of months ago, because I had heard good things. I put in on in the car on my way home, and was instantly smitten. I absolutely adore this band and am now looking into the stuff from The Beautiful South, as well. Loving them, too!
  6. It's been YEARS since I've heard that Dramarama record. It was in rotation when I was a DJ in college, and that's about all I can remember about it. I think that I liked it.
  7. Mavis was exactly what you would expect: rousing, boisterous and a lot of fun. Bob played way too many Sinatra covers. Sounded workmanlike, but not terribly thrilling. Great band that just sounded... like they should. Meh.
