Wilco SBD from 9/4/98: "Me and MikeyD went down to this show in Rockford to see wilco and they were great!! Funny story, We're hanging around the soundboard waiting for the soundguy (Adam) to ask for a patch, and when comes over, he says " Sorry , the guys are playin some new stuff tonight and didnt want board patches.. No prob, he had our stealth stuff too. Then he says... "But if you got some green bud, I can hook you up..." So then we were on the board... Adam had a ?Fostex? deck already on the board so we used that and the coax output to the other Dat, 2 board masters, and ran the small

the [thread] never stopped... -
i'm not a taper but i try and collect shows i either attended or that are just downright kickass (sorry, it's early i've no suitable adjectives). .flac/.shn/lossless audio... while it may seem like a more advanced concept to grasp, it's really quite easy. it's no different than DL'ing any other audio (just takes longer because the file sizes are enormous). don't let that be a deterrent. depending on how many people are seeding, it sometimes takes an entire day to DL one show... be patient, once you're on the lossless wagon you'll never fall off and it's well worth it. fwiw, i don't have

Were You Ever In A Cover Band?

Bad Apples attempted some of our own material but it was just blatant larceny... "Original Tune" was really just a ripoff of "Gone Daddy Gone" "Nice Tits, Bad Breath" was the "sweet emotion" intro and riffs with different lyrics. we've yet to generate any major label interest but we're undaunted nonetheless. -
right on.. i just needed a reason to shoehorn a U.N. Jefferson reference in there... "Well, boys I've looked over your application and.. uh, well...I'm in a difficult situation here; I mean after all -- you're nerds."
-
Dear U.N. Jefferson, this is a letter to formally apologize for insulting your fragile Tri-Lam sensibilities. i'll refrain from quipping in the future about frat boys or Phish or Young MC. re: TS even i don't like that song... except for that middle jam part, which they nail every time.

you're a good man doing a good job for a good cause.

me too, great tour... i've got dvd and audio from Presto that i'd love to share with anyone who's interested...

right, good catch... -
hahaha, why so uppity and defensive? you're taking shots at me for liking Rush while you name-drop Marvin Young? hope the irony's not lost on you. it's not like you had a phalanx of S1Ws flanking you during homecoming or anything. i could go all day on squidly frat b.s. but i think A_Wheel pretty much covered it already, a'ight?

Moe Syzlak: "you know what i blame this on the complete breakdown of? society." -
i think "hip-hop" and "fraternity formal" being used in the same sentence kinda sums up the 'relevancy.' at least for me it does.

much appreciated, people.. if you decide to torrent this i'm happy to seed this one for as long as needed...

not to split hairs as the mp3 version of 8/24/07 sounds fine but is there a link for that show with all tracks entirely in lossless .wav format? i've seen in a future age>spiders and sunken treasure in .wav in a different thread... was the rest of that roadcase version ever made available in .wav?

Were You Ever In A Cover Band?

i've been in semi-retirement... most recently played in a Joe Strummer Tribute show in early 2003 with a band called Bad Apples. setlist The Leader> Car Jamming London Calling Brand New Cadillac Jimmy Jazz Tommy Gun Clash City Rockers The Magnificent Seven -
season one isn't great but the 'beloved aunt' ep is pretty damn hysterical... give this show a chance; [for me] it got supremely hysterical by season three. i personally identify with the guy on many levels... i'm basically Larry David with hair and no money.

i originally grew up on the jersey shore, where, between springsteen and bon jovi -- and to a lesser degree, Frank Sinatra, and Pat DeNunzio from The Smithereens -- it was a foregone conclusion that we were all destined to be superstar performers. demo tape gods abounded.. the shore had and i'm sure still has its share of cover bands, too. circa 1983 picture the local roller skating rink doing zero business in the summer and compensating via Battle of the Bands. eight different bands, all teenagers from neighboring middle schools, all playing a different variety, or wuss-level of 'metal.

just curious what Lil' Wayne has done lately to even warrant a mention? notorious b.i.g. is the lone puffy-ite with any juice. "don't ask me if i write rhymes, i write checks."

I was at these shows as well and I'd say the Hampton run was decent (only "Stir It Up" and the Space->So What->Sugar Mags->Scarlet-Fire second set opener on night 2 was great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npYdfYbnL78) but the Giants Stadium gig is more notable for a lot of douchebags crashing the gates en masse than the tunes that night, unfortunately. that entire spring '88 run was outstanding (caught five straight shows, 3 Hampton/2 Byrne). i'm not down on the following spring Warlocks run; i just think those dates overshadow some of spring 88's high spots. agreed, Space>So
