  1. Check out the game-lengths of the 1967 World Series - which also featured Boston and St. Louis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967_World_Series The longest game was 2:48. But this year? The shortest game was 2:52, and the longest so far was 6 minutes shy of 4 hours! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_World_Series
  2. Toto was a more correct answer. Falco also belongs in this thread, but not Taco.
  3. I picked this up a couple days ago: Mutual Benefit. It's lovely.
  4. I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.
  5. Ha. I have a Chet the Jet tshirt. Anyway, I'm not sure why you're concerned with what I think is creepy. But here's another one: Dudes should not wear a Cutler jersey. Or Robbie Gould. Those are for the ladies only.
  6. Well, with the internet-based jukeboxes they have, anything is possible.
  7. There was something in the Anthology about Paul getting a little creeped out that so many French dudes were into them when they played Paris early on.
  8. No, please. Carry on. Whatever floats your boat. But, I get creeped out when I see an older guy at a Blackhawks game wearing a Patrick Kane jersey. For a kid? great. For an older guy? Go with Magnusson or Hull or even Roenick.
  9. I'm glad you asked. It's nonchalant enough for me to not trigger any creepiness.
  10. Fine. Worry. Creep factor from most to least. Scenario 1. I'm driving in my car with a pal. a Taylor Swift song comes on the radio. I try to change the station. He stops me because he LOVES this song! Creep factor: Heebie jeebies. Scenario 2. I'm driving in my car with a pal. a Taylor Swift song comes on the radio. He starts belting out I remember when we broke up the first time Saying, "This is it, I've had enough," 'cause like We hadn't seen each other in a month When you said you needed space. (What?) Then you come around again and say "Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change
  11. yeahhh... about that... When my wife sings "trouble, trouble, trouble" to our 9-month old, it's cute. If one of my pals told me to not change the radio station because a Taylor Swift song was on, or started singing along to one of her songs, or plugged the jukebox with her songs, I'd definitely be creeped out.
  12. Ha - I love that Sleep's Dopesmoker is WAY up on that list. I have yet to have the patience to listen to it all the way through...
  13. I would place their turning point to the album that follows Muswell. Apparently their first tour after the ban was in Fall 1969, but was very unsuccessful - lots of cancelled dates.
  14. There was definitely a "we just saw the sex pistols, and this thing (punk) is going to blow up, let's buy-in early" vibe about assembling The Clash, pushed along by professional huckster Bernie Rhodes. Paul Simonon couldn't even play bass, and he was asked to join! Definitely not as romantic as Paul seeing John play at a church soiree, but not quite as manufactured as The Monkees.
  15. I have a Clash-hating friend who always sings "Donkey Kong, what're we gonna do now?" - brilliantly combining Tommy Gun and Clampdown.
  16. Getting really psyched for that release. I dug out my Anthology DVDs last night - looking forward to a complete re-watch.
  17. The Doors deserve better critical acclaim/respect than they get, if only for inspiring Iggy Pop.
