NIght three available now!
-
Nice find! I will be looking for Thurs tix.
Thanks -
I caught the Yield show! Amazing to say the least. My favorite album of theirs. They didn't do a full album in Minny so I wouldn't count on it in Denver (although I hope you get an amazing show).
Eddie came into the crowd during Porch and was about 2 feet away from me which was a cool experience.
Lucky bastard!
-
And they played all of Yield in Milwaukee last night. Crazy.
-
I caught them in Austin at acl weekend 1. Very fun show-it was a festival so tough to compare to the arenas. I have been hearing good things about this tour. Lincoln, Detroit and Moline got great shows.
-
For Bob Weir's b-day: Wilco and Bob doing St Stepen. Nice singing by Jeff. Great explosive drums, as they should be. Nice ringing guitar effects during the bridge (or is that keyboard?). They put some thought into this one.

When was this?

Plant put on a great show at the capitol theater last week. Zep tunes sounded great and it seemed like there was more zep than ususal for a plant show.
-
So, are the general admission floor tix for the Capitol $76? I choked when I saw the hundred dollar tix, but I could do the ga tix (even though that is rather exorbitant)
GA $67
Balcony $77
Loge $97
I think that is right give or take a dollar.

Frontgate works for me almost every time. You need to stay at it for a good thirty minutes though. They released the tickets in waves. There were ticket drops every few minutes-I got great seats for capitol theater night 2 at 10:15 and decent tix for night 1 five minutes later.
I am always amused when people come on to message boards to complain five minutes after tix go onsale instead of trying for tix.

metallica
Even with bands I dont like, I usually can understand why people like them. But I dont get metallica, awful, just awful.
-
Pearl Jam-tour more often please!
Supergrass-get back together!
Jeff Tweedy-when will NYC get a proper solo show?
-
Im happy. I was planning on going regardless of the lineup. Glad to see pearl jam on the list this morning!
-
I'm pleasantly surprised with the album. I do wish they would record with Rick Rubin or Steve Albini so it will basically sound like live in studio with overdubs.
Its really growing on me. I think Ed's vocals are fantastic. This record makes backspacer feel like an EP.
-
My verdict on the record is still out. But like all PJ records, they take time to grow on you.
But I will say that the show they played at the Barclay's last night was fantastic. As good as ever.

My little brother texted me from The Centrum (Worcester, MA) last night before the show only to tell me that the place is a pit. I knew this as I've seen the GD there a bunch. I told him that the old Philly Spectrum was worse and he agreed, saying he saw PJ close it out in '09 on/around Halloween where they came out dressed as Devo and played "Whip It." Pretty cool.
The halloween show in 09 was good and long, but the night before was better musically
Seems like they played a killer show last night.

I think this is a smaller version of what has happened with the vinyl market. Most labels figure collectors are the minority any more so they market physical product at a boutiquey kind of price. Granted with vinyl it usually costs more, but you get more. On the CD they probably figured: the majority will never buy it, but the minority will always buy it. Therefore, mark it up. You get gouged for liking high quality audio and having liner notes in your hand.
and they know people will pay a premium when the CD is first released

I'm a big fan of the "Sirens"->"Lighting Bolt"->"Infallible" trio. Probably up there with "In My Tree"->"Smile"->"Off He Goes" for my favorite three songs in a row.
Thats a bold statement!

tour starts tonight
no opening bands on the east coast!
-
Long day/night/morning at wrigley.
Great atmoshpere, great crowd and great sound. The band really played their heart's out given the situation. So many others would have been back at their hotel. Great time.
-
anybody score tix yesterday?
I got hartford reserved, but shut out for brooklyn and philly
I love all the records up to binaural-I think that string of records is amongst the best any band has put out
after that they are all sort of the same, a few tracks I love, a few that are ok and a few that I skip
I will say that backspacer is the only record since binaural where I dont skip any tracks-its a good listen all the way through IMHO (even if some of the lyrics are a bit corny)

Weir. I don't smoke.
There is the issue.
-
every show gets pulled the question is not weather it was, it's will it surface. I am going to reach out to a few southern friends
hopefully someone will put them all together on a compilation
-
I think they have brought in outside marketing help at some point in the last couple of years. Probably around the time they started to release the deluxe box sets.
Excited for Wrigley, new music and hopefully a tour with enough dates so that tickets wont be impossible to get.
-
Damn-I wish bobby was paying more of the shows-I am guessing it was the fast version of FOTD?
That Dear prudence with MMJ is great
So strange in the daylight. Its like drinking at lunch!
