Tweet (gasp) Tweet
The little birdie fluttered and landed with great force on our picnic blanket.
"Where have you been and what's with the backpack?" we inquired.
"I've been so busy making plans, trying to get everything ready for a special weekend. And do you know how hard it is to fly with a pack on my back?" the birdie said.
"Ah…a special destination weekend perhaps?" we said.
The little birdie exclaimed, "Well, of course! Have you been living in a valley? Just make sure your memberships are up to date by midnight Sunday (Pacific Time) or you'll be sorry."
"Ok, little birdie, thank you for the heads-up. We appreciate it. Where are you going next, birdie?" we said.
"To the great white North!”

picked up the CD
it will take time to soak it in
sonically impressive and they picked the instruments back up which I love
and a "punk" song!
-
oops never mind

Anybody do the 10c pre-sale?
Got tix for hartford, with the usual server crashes, ripped faces, cart drops and checkout loops.
$175 for the pair.
-
Yeah I know. Not sure how I feel about it. Not as bad as Neil young charging $250, but not as good as Tweedy charging $45. That price will definitely keep me from going to more than one show though.

I had a pair of third row tickets to see Pearl Jam in 1994. I wound up selling the tickets to a broker and spent the money on a trip to Ohio to see two Grateful Dead shows.
Can't say I regret my decision, but it would have been cool to see Pearl Jam at that time in their career. I doubt I'll ever see them now.
Buckeye?
The PJ shows I saw in 2009 and 2010 were as good as 94, 96, 98 IMHO-so GO!
Anyway, I took the thread to mean shows that you could realistically have gone to but did not.
The Who 1983 tour-had a choice to see The Who in Worcester or Rush in New Haven-I chose Rush. Great show, but I ended up seeing three shows on the signals tour and regret not going to see The Who.
PJ 7/14/03-I had just finished a run of about 7 shows and decided to pass on this one just 25 miles away-BIG mistake.
Garcia on broadway-the entire 1987 run
Maybe AC/DC on the back in black tour. Wasn't excited about it. But looking back, I wish I had gone. Heck, I saw Journey, Ozzy and Styx, why not AC/DC?
I dont have a specific date in mind, but, I wish I had seen Stevie Ray Vaughn live.
Fortunately, I have otherwise gone to most of the shows that I wanted to.

no particular order
wilco at the bushnell
pearl jam in newark
mmj at terminal 5
crowded house at the bowery

any word on a tape of this show?
-
they made an announcement at the start. if he got a warning and then kept going it sounds like a case of user error.
no doubt about it
I told him put the effing thing away.
-
I saw a guy get kicked out for using his smart phone. not sure what he was using it for, but out he went.
in front of the balcony?
my bud got kicked out-he was just letting his wife listen
warned once, then booted
I didn't even see any signs about phones/cameras, but I wasnt really looking.

we liked the show, good to be back in ttown. john referenced Horsefeathers, they have some damn good burgers. horseradish cheddar burger is my fav
Good show, a bit shorter than I expected. Still a great night of music. New madrid was great.
And the crowd was very quiet while Jeff was playing-which I appreciated.
Funny, I was at horsefeathers before the show. Saw Pat and John as they were leaving before the show-I heard Pat say -yeah we will be on at 8. They were 10 feet away and my buddy and I didnt notice until they got up to leave!
-
I have an extra ticket for tonight's show in Tarrytown. Left center balcony, row C.
Face plus fees.
Send an email to mattsimeone@hotmail.com
Meet at venue or nearby watering hole.

Pretty similar order,
Smile
Faithful
Red Mosquito
Light Years

Not as different as you might have thought.

I guess Pearl Jam is allowing their 2000 soundboards to seed on the torrent sites. Starting from the 1st one of 2000, someone has been uploading them on Bt.Etree. With the exception of radio airplay, I don't listen to much Pearl Jam. I have been down loading a few of their 2000 shows, though.
I did see them play a Lolla a few years back - good show.
Once the boots are no longer for sale, they basically allow free exchanges. At the moment, 2008, 2009 and 2010 are available for purchase through the 10c. Anything before that is fair game. Lolla was a good show. Hoping for more dates in 2011-the 20th anniversary tour! The three nights at jones beach in 2000 were fantastic.
-
Thanks for the bootleg tip, the ones I named weren't actually so recent. Did your recommendations have soundboard quality as well as killer versions or one or the other?
Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more about the tracks on the latest two albums, just to test out how opposite we actually are (well how opposite one can possibly be as big fans): rank these from favorite to least favorite
Smile
Faithful
The Fixer
Light Years
Red Mosquito
This is easy as pecan pie for me so I'm curious about your answer.
Different strokes.....
Since that boot is still for sale through the 10c, I would just say that version. Official Flac sound board matrix.
hmm ranking
tough to rank the first three but
faithful
red mosquito
smile
fixer
light years

the Archies reminded me of this:

Johnny Guitar is the weakest BSP track by far, followed by Supersonic, but I love the new record way more than 2006's. Except for Johnny Guitar there are no skipable tracks like i.e. Marker In The Sand, WWS, Parachutes, Army Reserve or Big Wave (the last which feels like a retroactive BSP b-side). Well that's half the album named right there. I do enjoy the hell out of Severed Hand, Gone and especially Inside Job (the last feels very Binaural).
In fact, Backspacer is my 2nd favorite PJ album right this moment but that's a very fluid ranking (aka what records I've played most recently). The triple threat Just Breathe-ATW-Unthought Known is the most powerful one since Footsteps-Wash-Dead Man.
On another topic: those who don't have them should search out the 2000 live demos for a killer Rearviewmirror, and the 2006 Belgium bootleg for a crazy "Crazy Mary".
Its funny because I love Johnny Guitar-except for that annoying fade out-and dislike gone and inside job as well as come back and big wave-but I like the rest of that record.
And if anyone wants to hear what I think is one of the best recent PJ shows I suggest the Philly Spectrum show from 10/30/09.
Main Set:
Gonna See My Friend, The Fixer, In My Tree, Given To Fly, Tremor Christ, Untitled, MFC, Hold On, Unthought Known, In Hiding, Deep, Habit, Cropduster, Off He Goes, Force of Nature, Present Tense, Got Some, Do The Evolution
Encore 1:
Just Breathe, Parting Ways, Jeremy, Breath, Light Years, Rearviewmirror
Encore 2:
Whipping, Crazy Mary, Footsteps, Once, Alive, Sonic Reducer, Baba O'Riley
Just a killer setlist. Even the cropduster was good that night. Probably the second best PJ show Ive ever seen.

Love to read the comments.
For me, its the entire catalog of songs from Ten to Binaural that amazes me. That was quite a run of excellent records. I also think Binaural is underrated. Terrific record from start to finish.
I do not listen Ten, Vs. or Vitalogy very much anymore. I have come to prefer more recent live versions of those songs. The Lukin/Not For You/Blood sandwich for example.
I still listen to No code, Yield and Binaural on a regular basis though.
Riot Act has four good songs-definitely the weakest IMHO.
Pear Jam (self-titled)was a good record, but there are a few songs I skip when I spin it.
Backspacer has really grown on me over time, even though I hate the production. Supersonic is the only song I skip when I spin that record.
Cant wait to see whats up next!

Those prices are for two people. Kinda high as the hotels are basically charging by the person instead of the room. But the packages make it easy if you dont want to worry about driving-one click and you are all set. And I think its cool they are offering shuttle buses from chicago and milwaukee.
I decided a long time ago to pass on this. Too much effort for a PJ show. I guess I am jaded. Im not traveling to freaking Wisconsin to sit on the lawn.
