  1. Don't forget the Grand Archives which was born out of Carissa and Band of Horses too
  2. Same here. I hope that means I get a nice surprise like I did with the Son Volt record. Not expecting much and than loving what came out.
  3. I think Nickel Creek was on Sugar Hill
  4. The new one is out there Just giving it a listen, and already liking the first song more than the last two records. Feels like a throw back to Trace-Straighaways sounds, but that's only half way through the first song Edit- Ok half way through and that opinion holds, so if you are an old Son Volt fan and have been turned off by his recent stuff (I like the solo records, but understand why others didn't) this might be the record you should check out
  5. Yes it is. This record seems to strike the right balence between MT and L&T. No real stunners like High Water or Mississippi but solid all the way through
  6. I couldn't handle that Dutch woman, so I stopped after one song the other night. Love the vocals on My Wife's Hometown, so far so good
  7. Do they allowing taping there? I've seen a few shows over the years there of groups that are usually pretty easy to find recording of (the Wilco show 3 years ago, Bela Fleck) but never had been able to
  8. for recent ones, I've love this one, just seems to fit the record which is also one of my favorites
  9. I think she was taken in like 88-89 (French distress call had been playing for 16 years) and the purge would have been 92 (Horace said he'd been dead for 12 years in 2004)
  10. Maybe the manatees are unhappy
  11. I got Entertainment Weekly for about a year recently the same way. It just kept showing up
  12. I'd go 1 5 4 2 3 Summerteeth YHF Being There AM AGIB SBS
  13. I must have caught that same tour.... summer 97 I think.
  14. I think he was in the original special too that launched the show.
  15. I wasn't either the first time or two I played it, but I am now. Give it a few good listens loud, without distractions, and straight through, that should help
  16. I gave this a proper listen last night on the stereo (not computer speakers) with a few martinis and it really clicked. The nuance of the songs really starts to register after a few listens. I was afraid this record would be like Sky Blue Sky for me. I don
  17. I think I'm having the same problem. I've only heard it through work speakers. I'm looking forward to having this on the home stereo this weekend.
  18. Statements like this belong in the Lost thread I agree with Kyle, too short, and not her best, but it is good. Feels like something that will sound better with more listens too.
  19. Looks like this is now out there (I'm dl'ing now to confirm)
  20. Did Jin and Rosseau ever really interact? I don't think Rosseau ever spent a lot of time with them, she more or less seemed to leave as quickly as she came to give a warning, snatch a baby, drop off a Ben, etc
  21. I'm not terribly hip, and I don't listen to enough new music, but here was my top 10 1. Stephen Malkmus- Real Emotional Trash 2. The Gaslight Anthem- The '59 Sound 3. James- Hey Ma 4. Vampire Weekend- Vampire Weekend 5. The Hold Steady- Stay Positive 6. Ryan Adams and the Cards- Cardinology 7. TV on the Radio- Dear Science 8. Destroyer- Trouble in Dreams 9. My Morning Jacket- Evil Urges 10. James McMurtry- Just Us Kids
  22. I think she was in season 3 when Julliet was in trouble with the others for helping Jack. She was sort of an enforcer/sheriff for the others They used it once before I can remember when they were telling the story of the tail section survivors, might have been called the other 48 days or something like that.
  23. Hey Ron Rivera It's nice you stop them on 1st and 2nd down, but you need to do it on 3rd as well for optimal results. Congrats to the Steelers. I know my family in PA is at least happy.
