  1. After seeing Wicked, and learning that they've been doing that for 4 years, 6 days a week, I wonder what thats like, how they keep their enthusiasm/interest. Then I thought about bands who tour a lot, and realized some are probably in the same situation. Wilco definetly does not seem to fit in this category, but it makes you wonder if other bands are in that state when you see them
  2. for anyone who hasn't seen the Heroes Wilco, check it out: http://www.forteantimes.com/offers/competi...140/heroes.html I am behind on the riveria, but I''m still hoping...
  3. Have you seen the Sunken Treasure DVD? He does a whole thing on the beauty of everyone being there, part of an experience together. Its cool, too bad I haven't been to many live concerts
  4. How bout assuming you've never listened to the album before, virgin listening (now thats an idea!)
  5. So whats better... going to a (Wilco) concert, or purchasing a new (Wilco) album?
  6. I'm watching the House marathon, while periodically refreshing, so it ain't too bad EDIT: It just ended...
  7. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...I think I'll go get something to drink
  8. http://wilcobase.com/event.php?event_key=1129 Last nights set list if you haven't seen it yet. I haven't been too many live shows but 3 encores? Thats pretty cool
  9. He's a lot better in the smaller, more intimate setting, and not so much in front of a large audience, i.e., summerfest last year in WI
  10. Here's how I break it down: A.M. - The alt country Uncle Tupelo album Being There - the Exile on Main St (country, rock, blues) Summerteeth - the pop album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - experimental folk A Ghost is Born - songs are either experimental or folk Sky Blue Sky - folk n' soul (rock n' roll)
  11. Being There Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Sky Blue Sky A.M. A Ghost is Born (haven't heard enough of summerteeth)
  12. Anyone else a fan of Will? I just recently started listening to him, and really enjoy his gritty/soul style; and apparently he puts on a live show like no other. He's been on tour for years now, and hes young willhoge.com/band
  13. I'd like to thank you all; for NOTHING!
  14. cool, i was assuming it wasn't available on itunes, so thats why i asked.
  15. thanks, minus the lack of the wilco song
  16. Does anyone have a link to said "jazzy, couch music"?
  17. I've never liked Prince, but his covers are always interesting (and starchips and coffee, see matt nathanson)
  18. I love Kotche's solo near the end. It seems that the unreleased songs (one true vine and lngca) would have been good songs to kind of round the album off with something gritty and something pretty
  19. I hear them after church! Our worship leader is a big Wilco fan. He has even re-written the lyrics for At Least That's What You Said, and played that during service
  20. There was Austin City Limits with them. They played lots of stuff off of Sky Blue Sky, likewise with the Shake it off dvd
  21. I was fortunate to get to see this show as well. I had no idea of what to expect from the Bang on a Can All Stars, but I have to say they were a very talented and experimental group. Some of it was really out there, which was cool, and there were also nice melodies and interactions between the band members that kept it real. I have been a big fan of Kotche's solo works, so I was really excited to see him play. I won't repeat what has already been said, but my favorite pieces were Snap!, i've been a stax fan for a while now and it was great to see it presented in such a different way, even th
