  1. Short clip from one of the shows with Glenn and Pat providing backing for Johnny Marr's performance of his own song 'Down on the Corner'. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=yCTRZMAtx5Q
  2. According to the Frenz board the Wilco guys are rumoured to be staying on in NZ for an extra week or so to 'work on their latest album' in Neil Finn's studio. As someone on the board pointed out, this would be possible given that Jeff's solo dates in the US don't kick off until Jan 29 (although the question was asked whether Jeff, Glenn, John and Pat would work on material in the absence of Nels and Jorgensen). Someone on the Frenz board is a neighbour of Pat Sansone's mom and she apparently confirmed the rumour. Interesting!
  3. According to the Frenz board the Wilco contribution on the last night included "At Least That's What You Said", "The Late Greats", "I'm A Wheel", "Reservations", "Jesus, Etc", "What Light", and the newie "You Never Know". Lisa Germano provided violin backing on lots of the Wilco stuff (a la Andrew Bird I guess). Also included Jeff taking lead vocals on the final ensemble number "Something In the Air". KT Tunstall apparently performed a new number called "Hazel Black" co-written with Jeff and Neil Finn. Jeff again took the lead on "Fake Plastic Trees" and also sang with Neil on "Thr
  4. There's a couple of short clips from the studio on the myspace site that's been set up for this project. I spotted Jeff, John and Glenn: http://www.myspace.com/7worldscollide Also, Jeff's 13 year old son Spencer has joined his dad in NZ and is keeping an interesting blog about this and other stuff. Man, this kid is a precociously talented writer! http://spencertweedy.com/

They came from all around the world and converged on Auckland, New Zealand. Over a short few days in 2001, they formed a band and rehearsed a lengthy set, taking it to the stage of Auckland
  7. Offical press release: Over Christmas 2008 and New Year 2009, Neil Finn has invited the core band from his 2001 Seven Worlds Collide project, plus some other special guests, to create a new album at Roundhead studios in Auckland, New Zealand. Guests confirmed so far are Radiohead
  8. Just read an interesting interview with Ed O'Brien from Radiohead who suggested that he and Phil Selway from Radiohead might be getting together with Neil Finn and some members of Wilco towards the end of the year for some sort of project. Sounds like a sort of reprise of the Seven Worlds Collide project that Neil Finn put together a few years ago with Ed and Phil along with Johnny Marr, Eddie Vedder and a few others. That project resulted in a series of live concerts in Auckland New Zealand and a great live CD/DVD ('Seven Worlds Collide'). Details in the interview are sketchy but this
