Ha! That's funny, because it's a pet peeve of mine. But I'd be willing to bet that 90% of English-speaking people don't know the difference between among and between.

Baltimore should have made the deal 2 years ago when they could have had Oswalt and Ensberg. Let's hope MacPhail will teach Baltimore to learn from its mistakes and trade Roberts and Bedard (but then again, they're essentially asking for other teams' entire farm systems).

I think TM would like nothing else than to break up the 5-day pass into individual tickets for each show -- it'll get a service and "convenience" fee for each ticket, rather than a reduced one for the pass.

Yeah, I just checked eBay fearing what I may find. Surprisingly, there's nothing yet. The one pass (instead 5 tickets) certainly complicate things for them.

They may have been. But I also get the feeling that there's a higher demand for Wilco shows in the band's hometown than what people give them credit for. Also, people are flying in from other parts of the country for these shows.

If they land Roberts (heck, even without Roberts), I can't recall a Cubs' team in recent memory having as good a lineup top to bottom as next year's Cubs' team.

But they're not expecting him to hit 35 homeruns. They're expecting him to get on base (and probably lead off) and play solidly in right field. Sure, the surgery on his right elbow is a concern, but the type of injury is such that he should come back with no problems.

$9.50 for fees on a $175 ticket? I don't think that's bad. In fact, compared to TM, that's nothin! One time I got tickets 36 minutes after the pre-sale started. KEEP TRYING!!!

Sure. If the venue holds 4,000 people, and they release 400 tickets for pre-sale, that means only 200 people get tickets (assuming that they put in for 2 tickets). That's not a lot.

Relative to who or what? The White Sox offered him the same amount for the same number of years, and SD offered him just slightly less. You're only worth as much as a team is willing to pay for you.

The really good part about these shows is that we'll get to hear Leave Me Like You Found Me live! Or is that a bad thing? Whatever, should be interesting.

I bet when everything's said and done you'll end up paying north of 2 bills for the pass.

How do you figure? Right now the Cubs have ZERO natural outfielders penciled in the start on opening day. Soriano is the only one with a position locked up, and he's a converted infielder.
