  1. But hey! I got your thread rolling. I think it was a botfly. He showed us a photo of one buried inside of a leg and urged us to imagine it being...um...elsewhere. Might want to invest in "athletic protection."
  2. I really don't want to re-open the Pete Rose discussion, but Mike Schmidt has written an article comparing Rose's punishment against steriod users' punishment.
  3. I've never been to Costa Rica, but I had a biology professor in college who takes students there every summer to do field research. He told us a story of a little bug that likes to burrow itself into human skin (I think to lay eggs.). He had one student, male, who had one of these critters crawl inside of his scrotum. They cause pain when they begin to enlargen and they are a bitch to get out. I can't remember the name of the little buggers, but I do hope you have an awesome time!
  4. Back to the "haunted" thing again?
  5. AL MVP at this point, I would say. Hunter was a leader until he got hurt. Morales and Crawford will get votes, too.
  6. Thanks, you guys. Not a bad price for a cd, too.
  7. I was "befriended" on MySpace by a pretty decent UK band called The Labrets. They are offering a free cd at S&H cost of 1.99 in British Pounds. I was about to send-off for it, but I realized I don't how much that is in Dollars Americano. Does anybody know the conversion from pounds to dollars? Thanks.
  8. And the Cardinals are close to signing John Smoltz as a reliever.
  9. I don't think so. The first hint has the rocker described as "dapper." Tweedy has never been dapper, not even in a nudie. It's probably a solo act.
  10. Yes he can, but he better be mindful of the story of Rockies 2000 #1 pick Matt Harrington. Drafted 5 times, never signed, now makes $11.50 an hour changing tires at Costco. Brilliant. To be fair, he had an awful agent for the first draft. He did hire Boras for round 2, though.
  11. I agree with this statement, but like Crow Daddy said: Hamilton's more of a hazard to himself. He's basically J.D. Drew from the Cards and Braves days: A legit CF, who slides over because of Edmonds and Andruw and their (formerly) obscene defensive talents, with the hope that limiting him to RF will offer some protection from injury. It doesn't, but hey it's a plan. But when I say a guy can play a position, I mean he literally can play the position at the major league level and get the job done daily. I'm not for being theoretical to the extent I'd put myself on merely for attention on an i
  12. Looks like my Aunt Vera and her recently paroled step-son/lover Tommy, who is sporting his Sunday wife-beater and his favorite "B" hat.
  13. Is this statement based on some more of that sabermetrical nonsense? Hamilton can play center anywhere. He's been moved to right because he's injury-prone, plus the prescence of Borbon and his speed opens up the outfield, which only benefits the pitchers.
  14. All this on and on about pansies getting hit by a pitch and yet not one mention of Adrian Beltre taking a ground ball directly to the nutsack.
  15. Basically, as soon as Manny works a full count, we're even.
  16. Later, the same officer requested an ambulance come out to change Willie's head bandage, as it's looking rather old.
  17. Meg White by Ray LaMontagne Creeque Alley by the Mamas & the Papas
  18. I find this impossible to believe. I've been under the impression you're held in the highest regard around this joint. Not only would your post count be alot higher, the membership total would be lower, as many members come here only for the bit torrent info and downloads. After being on this board for a year I've seen a few people being downright rude (a couple overtly and consistently), so I cannot imagine the offense you committed. Somebody call Ollie Stone, I smell a conspiracies.
  19. Nice story on the independent leagues, where Jose Lima, among others, is still playing.
