  1. i see some clouds, and i see some old men yelling at them.
  2. pleasant surprise tonight....Jim Elkington is playing w/ Steve Gunn's band.
  3. but the LP version came out in 2010.
  4. i went to Watt. really great show. pretty dismal showing though, attendance-wise. tonight it's Steve Gunn.
  5. if i go, i can tell him i finally posted the 2nd part of the interview i did w/ him last year: http://bigtakeover.com/interviews/interview-with-mike-watt-musings-on-blue-oeyster-cult-the-stooges-and-thurston-losing-his-shit-part-2
  6. there is a lot of quality stuff to dig into...enjoy the ride.
  7. people bitch about Deep Purple but what about The Fall? and who will be the first Japanese band to get in? it really should be Les Rallizes Des Nudes but that will never happen.
  8. two different, much different approaches. equally as valid.
  9. lol. they were directly in front of me. that drummer's a tall SOB.
  10. most likely. and you forgot the Beastie Boys, the other hip-hop group that white people enjoy.

  12. i think my mind would unravel if Jeff convinced Jim to come over for a Loose Fur set.
  13. your jam band roots are showing through. I realize that those bands are not in your regular listening rotation, but in particular The Smiths were absolute titans of creating an aesthetic (visual and sonic) that's pretty much been unmatched.
  14. you are obviously a well-rounded and highly studied music fan. Kraftwerk are basically the Beatles of non-guitar music.
  15. they did plenty of terrible material in their 30s. i find it funny that the word 'essential' is so hard to understand its meaning.
  16. Essential Sabbath - Vol. 4 Non-essential Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy Should never have had the Sabbath name on the sleeve - Seventh Star does that help?
  17. my point is that 'best work' doesn't have a time limit associated with it. if McCartney didn't do his best work w/ the Beatles, or Springsteen from Nebraska backwards, i don't know what to say.
