  1. Sounds and looks great. Jeff’s voice sounds a little shot though. Especially on Whole Love.

Aw, he sounds fine! That “shot” quality is what I love about Jeff’s voice. His voice sounds warm and lived in. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed that webcast. I am so looking forward to Radio City in October!!!!!

  2. Tickets & theaters are now available on the website above. I’m lucky and have a few theaters to choose from.

Seems to be playing in many places near me in the NJ burbs! I chose a theater 10 minutes away from my house. All set for July 11 and really looking forward to it.

  3. Finally, a Wilco show on a night I can attend in NYC. But by the time I was able to try for a ticket, all that was left was the back of the upper upper upper balcony. I will try again, but will have to go for 1st or 2nd mezzanine as that is my price range. It would be nice if I could manage to see this band more than once! (My only time was way back on the Summerteeth tour!)

  4. I'm sure as hell not paying Apple for "Apple Music" just so I can play songs I ripped from CDs in 2008 or whatever.

I don’t think that is what is going to happen. It is only the name of the app that is changing, and the name change is only on Apple devices. iTunes for Windows will remain.

I use the “Apple Music” app on my iPod touch all the time, but not as a streaming service, only to access my own library.

I think you are panicking needlessly.

  5. He did. We were able to spend some time together earlier in the tour, and sang before a show. He was really impressed(which I still can’t believe.... just :omg) and asked if I wanted to do it on stage that night. I declined that night cos I was way too nervous, but I mentioned we were going to other shows too, and that Chattanooga was a hometown show(that I had been hoping for since I started listening to Wilco at 13), and he said we should definitely do it on stage. I was very nervous, but dang if Jeff believes in me I ought to believe in myself too.

The day of the show in Chattanooga came and I knew he wasn’t feeling well cos I saw where he couldn’t do his book event in Decatur the day before on Instagram. I felt awful cos he felt so poorly, and I was very surprised he even wanted to do the show given his condition. I would not have blamed him had he cancelled, it sucks to work when you’re sick

He seemed to feel a bit better later in the afternoon, so we ran through it once at soundcheck. I can’t get over how sweet he was to me. I mean over the years we’ve had moments, but it just blows me away he thinks as highly of me as I do him.

I gotta say also, that the Wilco crew is also amazing and hardworking, and just as sweet as Jeff is. :wub

    All the warm fuzzies.

This story completely warms my heart. Jeff Tweedy is one good egg.
  6. a club show for under $50? that's incredibly easy.

Not in NYC, for an artist like Wilco.

Nick Lowe with Los Straitjackets sold out an upcoming club show in NYC for $40+$10 fees = $50.

I would put Wilco as an equal to or slightly more desirable ticket.

(I sadly put off buying one of those Nick Lowe tickets too long and got shut out.)

  7. Thanks for the feedback. I started seeing them in late 70s/early 80s in CT. Would still check them out even with the obvious missing parts.

I have since been reminded by someone on another forum that many of the songs Joey sang were written by Terry. So I guess what I miss is Joey singing Terry’s songs. ;). See the band if you get a chance, they’re still as fun as always, as I said.
  8. It's just Terry Adams left, right? How was it...?

Terry Adams is the only original left, yes.

This was the 2nd time I’ve seen this particular version of the band. They are very, very good, and as fun as ever, yet I can’t get over the gaping hole left by Joey Spampinato’s exit. They still do many of his songs, and they’ve found a guitarist and bass player who can sound like him. They all swap instruments and are all pretty adept at whatever instrument they’re playing. Terry is clearly the leader of this new band, and is the only strong personality in the band. I thought NRBQ was at its best when Al Anderson served as the perfect foil for Terry. The new lineup could use that. Having said that, I would recommend seeing them, they’re a great band. It’s just not NRBQ to me - it’s Terry and 3 other guys who are really good, but something intangible is missing. The new songs are in the same style of the old ones.

I may be a bit too cranky because I have been a fan for 30 years and don’t really know what went down between Terry and Joey, but I feel like Joey got the short end of the stick.

  9. I love Keep It Like a Secret, and most of their recordings, but I saw the band years ago and I thought their live performance was a huge let down. I felt the same way about Pavement when I saw them years ago: loved the records, but couldn’t get into the live show at all. Either I had the very bad luck of seeing both these bands on an off night, or some bands are just better at making records than performing live.

  10. nice and btw car seat headrest were great but they only did 5 songs

Dirty Dozen Brass Band hit me like a tsunami, they were that good. The opener Cha Wa, was almost as good!

Too bad Car Seat Headrest played so few songs.
