  1. I really think that even with the mixing and all as is, it is my favorite Wilco record. This is because, for me at least, I can't find a group of so many good songs on any other album
  2. Yeah that's a pretty great version.. I mean it's basically the bare bones of the song
  3. I was just curious what you guys think... I have always had fun by trying to decide which I like better. The sounds on YHF are just awesome, and I know that they are the permanent artistic statement. However, I love what the band has done with them live.. PS: I just felt like some YHF discussion.. since there hasn't been nearly enough discussion about this record...ha
  4. I know it's the new album and all... but Wilco (the album) is very easy to get into, in my opinion...I mean, I could see how it would be very accessible to a new listener.
  5. Does anyone know a few places where Spin would be sold?
  6. I gotta be honest... the bandmember I watch the most = Pat Sansone... he's just so cool to watch
  7. Agreed... Nels is comparable to a great power hitter in a baseball lineup... he makes the players around him better
  8. True, Jeff and Pat play very well... but no one is like Nels..
  9. Shhh.. He was offended by alleged comments by Tweedy and the gang that went along the lines of "So easy, a _______ can do it..."
  10. Hahahah well said... a true baptism by fire.. the fierce flames of VCers
  11. So by your own rules that you just stated... aren't you "bitching?" Also, for the record, I was completely calm when I wrote that post... no chilling necessary. On a relevant note... I wish I went to this show
  12. Well, I think you need to chill out with your lectures to people... I mean it's OK for people who aren't taping experts to make observations and inquiries about the sound quality of late. I didn't see any "bitching" in the posts... also, there is no need for you to lecture people for asking whether or not a recording has surfaced. It is also OK to wonder where a show is, especially if you don't know all the places to check. This lecture about "bitching" makes it seem like we are all ungrateful to the band, and that we should be sorry for not being as saintly and thankful as you.... Obviously w
  13. Very true, I have mixed feelings... Great news for the band, as this wave of publicity that comes with a new record is well earned in the pop-centered world in which we live. However, I love venues that are more unique than verizon wireless ampitheaters
  14. Check out the NYC Taper recording of the Wappingers Falls show the other night... very pristine all around. As for the recording of this show, this was in a theater, correct? That could be good news for you
  15. Awesome... and what a great set list (Summer Teeth, Magazine, Reservations, to name a few) And they played I'll Fight!
  16. I may just be completely wrong, but have you all noticed that the band is playing different sorts of venues than the 2008 tour(s)? I noticed that many of last year's venues were the sorts of uniquely American types like the ones portrayed in the DVD... This year, however, seems more like old auditoriums, amphitheaters, and ballparks... not always the case, just a general observation. AND I just read that Wilco is coming to play Farm-aid in my native St. Louis at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater... just can't picture Wilco playing there...
  17. True, but I needed to re-word the question in order to avoid confusion and repetition.. besides, the answers in that thread were based on the PMs.
  18. Nope that's correct... It's more like a playlist... just plays whatever u click on that is set to open in there... it's just weird... I adjusted the volume of the individual tracks, and it sounds ALMOST as good as VLC now
  19. Could someone who uses iTunes tell me why it is that when I play the same wav file in VLC and iTunes, VLC sounds much louder and clearer...my iTunes already has it so that there is no soundcheck or sound modifier (boxes unchecked) but the iTunes files still sound worse.
  20. Are Wav files that are converted from flacs still lossless? are the flac-converted wav files still better than mp3s?
  21. To respond to the name of this topic: Most people do in fact turn off the DVD at the end... congratulations
  22. 5/16/2008 The Pageant, St. Louis, MO 1/31/2009 Jeff Tweedy at Foellinger Auditorium, Champaign/Urbana, IL 6/15/2009 Bricktown Events Center, Oklahoma City, OK
  23. It is very worth hearing it on vinyl, trust me! It is just a much more warm and inviting sound. As a good friend put it, "it is like the band is right here in the room."
