I can't recall how much of that is in that recent book. Not as much as that other guy goes into - Yea - they were all pretty messed up. One good thing I read is that apparently he and Dickey had straightened things out before he passed. Dickey really gets hammered on in that One Way Out book.

He is talking about that trial he went through in the early 70s. You can read more than you want to know about that whole deal in that book Midnight Riders: The Story of The Allman Brothers Band.

I was reading an interview with Devon this morning. I have been through what he has been through. I can't imagine someone calling me up and asking me to talk about it. Fame is a funny thing. I generally do not pay any mind to the offspring of rock stars. But I saw this video of Devon doing Midnight Rider from 2009. He seemed to be pretty good at what he was doing. Whoever is writing the articles about Gregg's death needs to do some research. He keeps referring to Gregg as "Ramblin' Man". I wonder if this will be some shows that Bear taped:

I hope he had his affairs in order. He left behind a lot of ex-wives and kids who will be trying to figure things out. I guess he married again not too long ago.

Gregg's singing at the end of that live take is simply amazing. I know about them - never really heard them though. That is the nice thing about YT. You can just go there and listen to such things.

Thanks for telling that story, I have never really heard any of his solo albums. I have read about them - but never listened to any of them. I have to post this again. If you don't care for long songs or songs with instrumental passages - skip to @10:20 or so. Desdemona - Allman Brothers Band

I have on The Fillmore Concerts (1992 version of At Fillmore East).

I sort of figured he would be gone this year after that news in April. All you can say is - glad he is not in pain anymore.
-
Not surprising though - same as the recent Scorpions documentaries I watched. The bass player (Francis Buchholz) was no where to be seen. And the same with Black Sabbath removing Bill Ward from old photos.

Let's hope they don't follow the trend of sticking animation sequences in the film to portray what the narrator is saying. I hate that shit. I think I first saw it in that sketchy Ginger Baker film.

I'm about 46 minutes in for now. I forgot that Chris was a preppy guy back then. There are videos of Mr. Crowe's Garden live shows out there. If you watch them - Chris sounds like he is straight out of Georgia (which he was). It's amazing to think that Steve had only been playing for a few years by the time they made those first two albums. Listening to the rest now - I think those Amorica demos are what we have on the bootlegs that appeared many years ago now. The story is that Chris gave copies to someone or more than one person and then they spread around from there. It's funny n

It was funny seeing Bobby Cannavale in some of the episodes. I know him from a show called Third Watch.
-
I have not listened to it yet - but that is what Steve Gorman's old podcast use to be - him telling stories.
-
I think Howard was probably just trying to get Chris to talk about his brother.

I wonder what the numbers are?

That's a nice cliff hanger with that film reel - "That's the holy grail."

Someone in the comments said his new song sounds like a take on Shakedown Street. That was sort of my first thought when I first heard it.

That NYC episode is amazing. I sometimes think he took the Treat Yo Self idea and ran with it.

He certainly is:

What did you think of the new song (The Little Things That Give You Away)?

Me too - the version from the film - with my mystery dancing girl who has always captivated me.

I also wondered about that. The time period seems to be all sort of weird to begin with. Sort of like Blue Velvet. It is suppose to be modern day - but sometimes it seems as if they are in the late 70s/early 80s.

I can understand. I think they should have just done one or two seasons and called it a day.
