  1. It is - he is going off about that in the media now.
  2. I never thought of that. I think it was primarily over the song You Shook Me. In the liner notes of the last re-master, Jeff talks about why they did not play Woodstock. It seems to me he was never satisfied with the music. He also had Mickie Most trying to make him a pop star vs. what he actually wanted to do. Truth and Beck-Ola were thrown together pretty quick - in a matter of days, which is part of the charm I think. But according to Jeff, they really needed some songs, and did not have any. Truth - August 1968 Led Zeppelin - January 12 1969
  3. I am curious to hear them. The ones out now don't sound as bad as the old Stones cds, I know that much.
  4. Ross Halfin has posted some photos on his blog. I think Joe Perry looks like Mrs. Robinson (the hair).
  5. Uh, ok. Just give me your address and I will take care of it.
  6. That's what they were about - stereo was an afterthought. If I recall correctly, The Beatles did really involve themselves with mixing until Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
  7. I never owned any of the pre-Beggars Banquet albums ever, so I just went and got them all one day. I picked all the 2002 ABKCO releases from the first one through Let It Bleed. Of the new re-masters, I will probably buy what I already have: Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St., Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock 'n' Roll, Black and Blue, Some Girls, and Tattoo You. I don't think I have Emotional Rescue on cd.
  8. Do you mean this one: Jeff Tweedy 01/31/2009, Foellinger Auditorium, Urbana, Illinois It's out there - multiple sources. Someone should be able to help you out.
  9. I've read her new album sold over 40,000 copies already.
  10. I paid 12-13 dollars each - except for the White Album I have on cd, it was 20 bucks I think. I can't recall if the ABCKO Stones re-masters were more than that - I think they probably were. The last one I bought must have been the Let It Be re-issue, and before that, the BBC sessions.
  11. Exactly. I wonder if Mick is going to re-mix Exile on Main Street ? I have read that he wants to do that. I suppose I am behind on my Beatle cd buying - I never bought the Capitol boxes.
  12. Speaking of The Beatles, I found this online the other day:
  13. I've always had that notion also. The whole deal about Truth being a Zeppelin rip-off, and Jimmy's statement about Beck's Bolero ("wrote it, produced it, played on it"), etc. I recall reading these things more than once. I guess they left that behind long ago.
  14. Photographs by way of Rolling Stone magazine: Performance Backstage
  15. Bob Dylan on Barack Obama, Ulysses Grant and American Civil War ghosts
  16. Billboard.com article link
  17. Walmart and Best Buy also. They seem to be carrying some new releases, various greatest hits type cds, and popular catalog - such as Dark Side Of The Moon, or whatever now.
  18. In case anyone wants to read it: We talked about cd sales in this thread. I read somewhere the other day that all the Virgin Megastores are closing. At this point, if I want something that is not brand new, I have to buy it from Amazon.
  19. Once again, James Hetfield is a class act. That's some powerful stuff at about 6 minutes into Master of Puppets.
