  1. I am still looking for the show that was not suppose to be taped. I may have a source - I will know sometime today.
  2. I am curious to hear the next album. There seemed to be a lot of positive discussion of it in the interview.
  3. When I get that message, I just do a refresh by right clicking on the desktop, and then, Firefox will open. Something tells me you may be beyond that now though.
  4. From The Guardian: Neko Case talks to Leonie Cooper about the ups and downs of being a country singer raised on rock
  5. Together Through Life (Amazon link) Vinyl, Deluxe Edition, etc.
  6. There are a few interesting things in the recent Rolling Stone interview - although the interview seems to be mainly about what Bono does during the day. One thing I learned - Moment of Surrender was recorded in one take. They were making it up as they went along.
  7. Golden Ticket deleted scene.
  8. There have been five so far: American University 12/13/70 S.U.N.Y. at Stonybrook: Stonybrook, NY 9/19/71 Macon City Auditorium: 2/11/72 Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY: 5/1/73 Boston Common, 8/17/71 I am curious to what they sound like -
  9. Atlanta Pop was professionally recorded. It's the playing that I feel is ragged. Maybe loose is a better word to use. Speaking of The Beacon Run - I have to post this again: That is funny. I've always though that the dictionary definition for the word longing should include a listing for the song Melissa.
  10. I have the Hittin' The Note (which you can buy in Barnes and Noble now) that has a long interview with Kirk West where he talks about the archival releases. I think they originally planned to do a Dick's Picks type of deal. I think the band was not to happy about some of the releases that have come out, such as the Atlanta Pop Festival cds. I recall reading somewhere about a lawsuit they had going on with Polygram over tapes of shows and unreleased studio tracks.
  11. I hope this gets an official DVD release some day: Fillmore East - 09/23/1970. It's a bit ragged.
  12. Exactly. It's his playing that stinks. I've never heard One Way Out, and I have not bought any of the vault releases except for Live at Ludlow Garage: 1970, Fillmore East, February 1970, and Live at the Atlanta International Pop Festival: July 3 & 5, 1970.
  13. That's a great box set. I really like those early Hour Glass and Allman Joy tracks. God Rest His Soul is a cool song. Speaking of live albums, Peakin' at the Beacon is junk. I think I actually threw that cd in the garbage.
  14. Here's some information about the source: Alex Jones.
  15. A bit of a O. Henry ending tonight.
  16. What song was Derek playing the Les Paul on? A lot of people think Dickey is going to be one of the guest. I don't see that happening.
  17. That is one of Butch Truck's ideas/companies. I've only saw them once: Band/Artist: The Allman Brothers Band Date: 09/01/95 Venue: Star Lake Amphitheater Location: Burgettstown, PA Opening band: The Jayhawks with Victoria Williams Notes: (I am looking for this show.) 1. Don't Want You No More 2. It's Not My Cross To Bear 3. Ain't Wastin' Time No More 4. Ramblin' Man 5. Good Clean Fun 6. Sailin' 'Cross The Devil's Sea 7. The Same Thing 8. Soulshine 9. End Of The Line 10. Stormy Monday 11. Back Where It All Begins 12. Hoochie Coochie Man 13. No One To Run With 14. Jessica 1
  18. It's nice to see Satan get his props for once: Heaven and Hell (new album cover art.) Source Amazon pre-order Some news about two more Sabbath re-issues. So far, these all seem to be a Uk only release.

I wonder if some more of these big magazines will go under this year? I figure it is bound to happen. I have not seen an issue of Paste in a long time. If it is anything like Rolling Stone, they could save some paper and just post their lists and news bits online.
  20. Back when I use to buy used cds, I would end up with a lot of BMG stamped cds. I think a lot of people use to rip them off, and sell them to the place where I use to buy cds. I think I still have most of them. I recall having to usually replace the jewel case, as they would be cracked. When I was a kid, people did this via Columbia House - which still exists.
  21. Hittin' The Note (official website). The Allman Brothers Band (Wikipedia entry). Photographs from the Beacon Run (2009). Albums: Officially released vault shows:
  22. I never really listened to them, the old stuff, or the 80s stuff. I won a radio station trivia contest one time - due to the fact that I knew the name of the famous actress Peter was married to back in the 70s.
