Indeed. It is the best album he ever made or will make, for that matter.

Maybe you are in the Rattle and Hum film.

I think they were Jay songs and Jeff songs. I have always looked at Uncle Tupelo that way. I believe the first two albums note the following: All songs written by Jay Farrar, Jeff Tweedy, and Mike Heidorn except as indicated. All music written by Farrar/Tweedy/Heidorn. I think the last two albums have more of an individual credit attached to the songs. I may be wrong. Wilco actually did do a bit of a Son Volt song - at least once that I know of.

There is a house down the street right now from where I live that is for sale ($119, 000 dollars). The house is actually condemned. I looked it up online, and noticed there is no mention of it being condemned.

We'll see. If Mac says it's alright, there must be something there. We also have to remember that those dudes are all in their mid 60s. A bit of trivia - I bought Smiler the same night I saw Wilco for the first time. The album is actually not that great.

Why would Jeff want to sing a song Jay wrote? That does not make any sense to me.
-
I didn't mean to be out of line. I know you would do the same.
-
Shit. I will send you a cd. I have never seen them either, but I'd say I would have probably preferred to see the Joshua Tree Tour.

Well, I figure these days Ozzy is more known as a TV personality more so than a metal pioneer.

Country Metal - sounds like they have the Sabbath deal going on. You can't argue with that. Wait, did that guy say Sabbath was played out? Ha ha. Those bands wouldn't be doing what they are doing without Sabbath.
-
I would have liked to see that tour. They started to loose me with the whole TV/Zooropa deal.

For what it's worth, they had a hard time with The Unforgettable Fire songs in a live setting also. Or, so I have read. Unforgettable Fire: Past, Present, and Future--The Definitive Biography of U2 (Hardcover) by Eamon Dunphy

Great song. It's the cousin to Strutter, which is also about sex.
-
If you go by what Mac says, then he can still do it. Rod is probably my favorite singer of all time, but I don't own any of his solo albums past Smiler.
-
That probably makes you want to throw a brick through a window.

I like Please (maybe because of the drums), The most recent example is the last Who dvd that came out. They did not have it. The boy working there tried to sell me some Who greatest hits cd or something. I hate being bothered by clerks in stores to begin with.

I actually read an interview (I forget where or when) where Larry called the album that also.

For me, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, is the only one I have played more than a few times since Achtung Baby.

The trend these days, is making up lists of various things. I see such things in about all the music related sites or magazines I happen to look at/read. The days of Lester Bangs and/or long articles are pretty much over. I figure the goal of this thread was to get people to click on the links to the magazine. So, it is spam in a way. I have the following issues of Magnet: #54 and #57.

I wonder why they decided to go back to playing stadiums? I have read some things that suggest they are going to be "closer to the people in the stands" instead of a stage at the end of a field.

I have not had good luck finding new releases that I want there. So, that is why I decided to order them.

Spinal Tap - Unwigged & Unplugged Tour...
Analogman replied to solace's topic in Someone Else's Song
It was the Break Like The Wind (1992) tour that I saw. I wonder if those songs will translate to a stripped down setting.
