  1. I think that might have been the MTV Video Music Awards - I could be wrong.
  2. It's pretty standard for all bands to not allow videotaping, let alone, posting them online. I have always figured it was due to people selling them and/or the money Youtube makes from ads that the band does not receive, due to the fact they did not authorize the video to be put on Youtube. Or something like that. Youtube is starting to crack down - the other day, I ran across some clips of The Band where the audio had been disabled "due to copyright violations". Youtube is going to start a pay for video download service - so I figure they are looking to get rid of even more "violations" now.
  3. I taped that off of TV when they did it on Saturday Night Live - before it was released. It's one of favorite songs also. The video use to be on Youtube.
  4. This is the section of Via Chicago where you can find threads about Wilco and related shows available through Bit Torrent and B&P. This is the site where you can direct download Wilco and related shows. A link to a pinned thread about Bit Torrent and Related Links, Audio file conversion, How-to, Wilco show lists, etc. It's also important to remember that while some shows appear rather quickly for us to grab, sometimes it may be weeks, months, or years before the shows are available for us to get. Also - sometimes a show it not taped, and/or it may have been taped and never gets rele
  5. First, you have to convert the files from FLAC to Mp3 - I don't own an iPod, so I don't really know much about them or itunes. Check out these links: How to convert - an FAQ from The Owl and Bear Bit Torrent and Related Links Also - if you do a search on the word convert in the Just A Fan or In a Future Age sections, you will probably find multiple threads about how to convert files.
  6. Anyone ever watch these: The Lost Initiative: Episode 5.05 - This Place is Death
  7. I have watched a few, no denying that. But, I am not really interested in videos of shows. I am however, interested in the AUD sound tapes of shows. A year or so ago, I had a few Wilco shows, now I have over 50 dvds of archived shows. I actually work on finding, announcing, and archiving Wilco shows every day. So that is where my passion lies. When something comes about that may ruin our ability to get AUD tapes of shows, I get a bit nervous. If one looks at the banned band list on Dime A Dozen, one can see that we have it pretty good.
  8. Office-themed "We Didn't Start the Fire." Made by Brad E and Ashley G
  9. I like the French horn version. There are some instrumental jams from the Tall sessions that are not on the Lost Crowes release that I rather like also.
  10. I agree with you - particularity when people are not suppose to be "video taping" Wilco/Jeff Tweedy shows to begin with. I find it a bit odd that sometimes people post a link to a video in a thread and it gets removed, and other times, it does not.
  11. I have the release with the video footage on it. I think Chris's habit of singing too close to the mic sort of ruins it for me. There are many AUD tapes of this tour out there to be had.
  12. He is - and Van Halen are supposedly going to do a new album this year. Speaking of great books - Crazy From The Heat is a great book. I would not pay 117 bucks for it though. I think I bought it for 4 bucks - years ago.
  13. That's interesting. If you have read his book - then you know that he has a thing for Huckleberry Finn.
  14. You can search Wilcobase, and from there, you will find links to shows (with the songs) if they are out there to be had.
  15. Looks like he actually updated his website: Link
  16. Somewhat. She gives us a good history of the scene. It's not just all about Dylan. She tells use a lot about their mutual friends and other assorted people who were around, as well as, her own life. Another great one: Bob Dylan - Positively 4th Street
  17. I read that book. I forgot about it though. I am still a bit amazed about some of the stuff in Suze's book.
  18. If you have never seen this: Moby Dick (1998 version), you should check it out.
  19. I also prefer this: Bob Dylan - Visions Of Johanna Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue
  20. I just added all that information to our Wilco Live Show Archive spreadsheet - so I hope it's correct.
  21. I was wondering about that myself. The dates are not listed on the official Wilco website.
  22. I don't know if I agree with that - but then again, I am not a folk music expert. I don't really know a lot about it, just some stuff I learned from reading books and watching various documentaries. I'd much rather hear this: Bootleg Series Vol. 2 - 01 Seven Curses than say, Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat. When I was 15 or so, it probably would have been the opposite.
