Speaking of Noel, he tried out for the Stones after Bill left. I have that book - it is a good read.

Another sad trip that I have not yet seen mentioned - Mitch, Noel, Billy, and Buddy all had their legal battles with the Hendrix estate over the past decade or so. Not to long before Noel died, he was actually selling his Hendrix related memorabilia on Ebay. Also - the white Stratocaster that the Hard Rock Cafe owns came from Mitch - it was the one Hendrix used at Woodstock.

BBC Obit Maybe it's more about that he took what he learned from jazz drumming and blended that in with the innovative work of Hendrix.

I have never heard it - but I have read that Noel was given a lot of money to make that album.

I actually prefer later period Hendrix - such as, the sort of songs that are on First Rays of the New Rising Sun. I like the groove - or rhythm patterns, as Billy Cox called them.

And Noel, Buddy, etc.

As Mr. dmait pointed out - looks like Parish is at it also. I bet Jerry's last wife will have something to say about all of this. I think people should listen to the music, watch what film footage there is and enjoy the trip. We don't need some Hollywood BS movie to know that Jerry had problems. And that is exactly what the movie will end up highlighting.

Yea, I don't want to turn this thread into that. There is a thread about such movies around there somewhere. I will stick to saying that I think such a thing would be demeaning to Jerry and his family.

I really dislike rock bio movies in general - and this is the sort of thing that Jerry could not stand (I read that he was not into such things). Another one I hope never gets made - the Keith Moon story, with Mike Myers playing the part of Keith.

Maybe the guy who played him on that E! Channel "documentary" will get the staring role. What a bunch of shit.

Since I have been watching movies from the 70s on Youtube, there are few things I am now searching for myself. I sent an email to this guy (Cultra Rare Videos) - but have not heard back from him yet
