  6. Something different - I am quite fascinated by the Amish - and I found this article mentioned on a blog about the Amish that I read. Amish Looking Upward . and Who Is The Mystery Man Behind Prop 8?
  7. This time, no one was asked to show ID or a voter's card, but, they did have people sign a paper slip - which had the person's signature on it. Then, a perforated bar coded tab from that sheet was broken off and taken with the voter - and after voting, the perforated tab of paper was given to a poll worker on the way out.

  9. That is how the person I work with looks at it - she told me she refuses to use anything else.
  10. The last time, we had the touch screen deal, but, as I said earlier, now we have a different type of machine. I certainly don't think there were enough machines in there, but I suppose we are use to less people voting - instead of a lot of people voting. I tip my cap to those who have been standing in line - sometimes for 8 or more hours.
  11. I was talking to someone I work with a little while ago and she was asking me if I had the option to do a paper ballot - I don't think I have seen one of those since the 2nd Clinton term. She said where she lives, they only had five of those plastic deals for paper ballots, which slowed everything down.

  13. We had some talk about that in one of the political threads - I think for students, it is a touchy deal - that is voting where they go to school, or voting where they actually live when not in school.
  14. I only had to wait a few minutes. There was only one person in the line for my precinct. I even let some people go ahead of me - as they did not have the day off - and were trying to vote before they had to go to work.
  15. Since I was a young dude I have always wondered about this deal - and now, we have an answer:
