How long did you wait in line to vote?
Analogman replied to Serak_the_Preparer's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
This time, no one was asked to show ID or a voter's card, but, they did have people sign a paper slip - which had the person's signature on it. Then, a perforated bar coded tab from that sheet was broken off and taken with the voter - and after voting, the perforated tab of paper was given to a poll worker on the way out. -

That is how the person I work with looks at it - she told me she refuses to use anything else. -

The last time, we had the touch screen deal, but, as I said earlier, now we have a different type of machine. I certainly don't think there were enough machines in there, but I suppose we are use to less people voting - instead of a lot of people voting. I tip my cap to those who have been standing in line - sometimes for 8 or more hours. -

I was talking to someone I work with a little while ago and she was asking me if I had the option to do a paper ballot - I don't think I have seen one of those since the 2nd Clinton term. She said where she lives, they only had five of those plastic deals for paper ballots, which slowed everything down. -
I was hoping you were around to catch that post.

We had some talk about that in one of the political threads - I think for students, it is a touchy deal - that is voting where they go to school, or voting where they actually live when not in school. -

I only had to wait a few minutes. There was only one person in the line for my precinct. I even let some people go ahead of me - as they did not have the day off - and were trying to vote before they had to go to work. -
