I think this thread is a good thing - you can only have so many Wilco is Awesome! threads. Like someone said - if a band has a big enough following to create a message board, then why not have discussions like this. Some people feel strongly, others want to joke around, and some want to be critical of the those who feel strongly/joke around. I have been all three. This is the pattern that usually happens here - for better or worse.

Neil Young Archives Forum Does anyone know what the deal is with the black magic marker circle inside of American Stars 'n Bars?
-
It seems that way - although, maybe someone with more information will say.
-
I don't know - maybe someone with more knowledge could tell us.
-
You see that a lot now - dudes hiding them in the comment section.

Sorry I ruined your day.

At the end of the day, everything is about women.

I think I would have to throw Michael Shrieve and Bill Buford in that mix.

I wasn't really talking to you - I should have made that post clearer. I am sure Greg Allman does not go to bed hungry. But then again - he may not own that song anymore. These songs are used to get people to feel happy when they contemplate buying a product - not to get someone to go buy the album the song is on. Also - it is mainly baby boomers that these things are directed to.

I think that is BS. When I hear the song Melissa by The Allman Brothers Band, I don't want to think about how it was used in a feminine hygiene commercial. Just another example of greed. The rich always want more money.

Bob & Doug McKenzie 24th anniversary special

I hope to find the whole special somewhere - I am sure it is out there to snag. -
I'm not really a fan - but that is a nice deal for their fans. This is the way The Beatles and Stones catalogs should be done.
-
Something else that may come into play here - Bruce and Tom Petty own their own songs. Bob Dylan - I read somewhere once that he does not own anything prior to 1974. Neil - I would think owns all of his songs.
-
They are even cooler when you are standing in front of him watching him do them.
-
Terrible?
-
He didn't sign off on that usage - actually he spoke against it. Tom Petty is another one - he has stated that he has turned downed millions by now to sell his songs to advertisers.
