  1. I think I would have to throw Michael Shrieve and Bill Buford in that mix.
  2. I wasn't really talking to you - I should have made that post clearer. I am sure Greg Allman does not go to bed hungry. But then again - he may not own that song anymore. These songs are used to get people to feel happy when they contemplate buying a product - not to get someone to go buy the album the song is on. Also - it is mainly baby boomers that these things are directed to.
  3. I think that is BS. When I hear the song Melissa by The Allman Brothers Band, I don't want to think about how it was used in a feminine hygiene commercial. Just another example of greed. The rich always want more money.
  4. I hope to find the whole special somewhere - I am sure it is out there to snag.
  5. I'm not really a fan - but that is a nice deal for their fans. This is the way The Beatles and Stones catalogs should be done.
  6. Something else that may come into play here - Bruce and Tom Petty own their own songs. Bob Dylan - I read somewhere once that he does not own anything prior to 1974. Neil - I would think owns all of his songs.
  7. They are even cooler when you are standing in front of him watching him do them.
  8. He didn't sign off on that usage - actually he spoke against it. Tom Petty is another one - he has stated that he has turned downed millions by now to sell his songs to advertisers.
  9. Yes, that is a good place to learn of such things.
  10. Yes - There are others also - Destroyer - Exile on Franklin St.
  11. I think there are some numbers in this thread.
  12. In some of print reviews and whatnot published after he played where I live, there was some talk of a boxset of unreleased songs coming out this year - anyone else hear about this?
  13. I don't ever like it when songs are used in commercials or TV shows or whatever.
  14. Although the posting of tracks here is bad form - one can surely just look around on the internet and find them. I mean - you bought the cd - so what the hell.
  15. So far, it is a download of The Thanks I Get. I had to enable flash on my Quicktime in order to get this to work. Did you follow what Mr. Beltman posted?
  16. I use Winamp if I am playing Mp3s or Flac files - and Windows Media Player for cds. I use VLC Media Player for all video stuff - except for the Wilco or Pete Townsend stuff.
  17. Bob Okay, good day, this is our Christmas part of the album, and you can play this at your Christmas parties, uh, or to yourself on Christmas Eve, if there's nothing else to do. Doug Good day, eh? In case you thought, like, I wasn't on this part! Bob Oh, I guarantee ya, you'd be on. Okay, so, good day, this is the Christmas part, and, we're gonna tell you what to get, uh, your true love for Christmas. Doug Look out the window! Bob Where?! Whadda ya doing? Doug Snow, hosehead. Bob Wha? Oh, it's the Great White North, and it's snowing, cause it's Christmas time. Hey, hoser! Doug What? Bob Here's
  18. Quick Time is alright - but I notice they keep trying to get me to put iTunes on my computer when they do an update.
