I take it they can not tell the difference between someone grabbing legal stuff vs. illegal stuff.
-
I wish she would as much energy into making an album as she does touring - maybe we would get one sooner that every three years or whatever.
-
What's funny is - if you search around on the interenet you will see articles about how the ratings are down and people are upset at the show. Last week's episode is worthy of some sort of award - I thought it was great.
-
In the words of the great Hall & Oates, I can't go for that. . .
-
I got that thing tweaked to the max.
-
You can turn on the encryption option - that helps some - so I have been told.
-
Well, the thing is - you are not going to find WILCO studio albums on the VC tracker - or dime a dozen, etc. I would not depend on the VC tracker for Wilco shows - look around at the other places - you will find them.

I learned on DP PowerAmp/Flac Frontend - but not I onyl use EAC.
-
I forgot to mention - this is narrated by Billy Bragg.
-
I think they are more likely to go after people grabbing recent movies and high profile releases - at least, that is what I tell myself.
-
Here is something to make you even more nervous:
-
I think that is right - I really won't grab anything Mp3 anymore (even though I may want it) unless the files have been ripped using the proper EAC settings.
-
Is that not the reason one can fit a lot of songs on an Ipod - because the files are a low bit rate? I am not taking about stuff you grab, but rather files people convert. When/if I do mp3 rips - I use EAC with the following setting: LAME 3.97 -V0 --vbr-new. Not that I really know all the tech hoo hah, but I have been told this is the best.
-
You should do a test - while you can still hear. Take a song you know well - say some Beatles song. Listen to the vinly. Listen to the CD. Listen to a FLAC file of the song. Listen to an Mp3 of the song. What is preferred bit rate of Mp3's in an ipod? Less than 128?
-
I recall taking KISS albums into home room and playing them on one of those board of education black box record players - in 1977 I think.
-
Would you say that album was a 8.3 or 5.6 1/2?
-
Steve Jobs does not care about FLAC people. Plus we live in a take your music with you everywhere you go these days - of course when I was a teenager, it was boomboxes - playing cassettes - the Mp3 of the day. Besides occasion online radio listening at work, I only listen to music at home - so I only fool with Mp3 files when it is the only way I can get something I want to hear.
-
I don't think I've ever heard it, mate.
-
Good point. unless we go back to 1956 that is
-
read through this thread I would like the admins to share their views about posting whole shows/boots in Mp3 format on Via Chicago.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/documentaries/ BBC radio is the only internet radio I listen to these days. There is a lot of good stuff on there.
-
Sounds good.

Bands do this all the time now - they will probably get some dude who sings and acts like Paul Weller.
-
I see - I was just thinking off the top of my head. I don't think I have ever heard a song by The Jam.
