  1. Never met a millionaire,

and tell you momma, I don't care.

    Never gonna own a race-horse

or a fast back mid-engine Porsche.

    Don't think I'll own a private jet,

on the Stock Exchange I'm no threat.

So won't you help me make up my mind?

Don't you think I'd better get myself back home?

    Sittin' in the moonlight glow,

excuse me if my feelings show.

Watchin' all the trucks go by,

    dreamin' up an alibi.

You see, back home I'm considered the fool,

    but maybe they're right, I don't know.

So can't you help make up my mind?

Daddy says he'll buy me car

to drive, just as far as I need.

He wants me back at any expense,

he's got a lot more money than sense.

Funny but now that I've grown

    they all wanna be concerned.

Oh pleas, can you make up your mind?

Don't you think I'd better get myself back home?

Just don't know what to do.

Maybe I'll walk, maybe I'll ride, maybe I'll never ever decide.

  2. Wake up young man, it's time to wake up

Your love affair has got to go

For 10 long years, for 10 long years

    The leaves to rake up

Slow suicide's no way to go, oh

    Blue, clouded grey

    You're not a crack up

Dizzy and weakened by the haze

    Moving onward

So an infection not a phase

    Yeah, oh

The cracks and lines from where you gave up

They make an easy man to read, oh

For all the times you let them bleed you

For little peace from God you plead, and beg

For little peace from God you plead

Ahhaahh, Yeah, Ahhaahh, Yeah, Ahhaahh, Yeah

Wake up young man, wake up, wake up

Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up

    Oh, yeah

Wake up young man, it's time to wake up

Your love affair has got to go, yeah

For 10 long years, for 10 long years,

    The leaves to rake up

Slow suicide's no way to go, oh

Slow suicide's no way to go

Wake up, wake up, wake up

Wake up, wake up, wake up

  3. Groovin' . . . on a Sunday afternoon

Really couldn't get away too soon

    I can't imagine anything that's better

The world is ours whenever we're together

    There ain't a place I'd like to be instead of . . .

    Groovin' . . . down a crowded avenue

Doin' anything we like to do

There's always lots of things that we can see

We can be anyone we want to be

And all those happy people we could meet just . . .

    Groovin' . . . on a Sunday afternoon

Really couldn't get away too soon

We'll keep on spending sunny days this way

We're gonna talk and laugh our time away

I feel it comin' closer day by day

Life would be ecstasy, you and me endlessly . . .

    Groovin' . . . on a Sunday afternoon

Really couldn't get away too soon

  4. May the smile on your face

    Come straight from your heart

    Takes a lady like you

    To write that for me

    To wake up with you

    Makes my morning so bright

Wipes the sleep from my eyes

When you tell me your dreams

And it goes on and on

Way beyond and out of reach

It's a well known old secret

    Go and tell everyone

    Tell everyone

    The smile on your face

    Comes straight from your heart

If you look you will find

And you wrote that for me

  5. Yes I checked them out....really a hits set, but overall a real nice set with long jams.

Also, Eddie was back, which was in question since he misssed at least 1 gig a few months ago. I guesss the kissed and made up.

It was so sweet, seeing Wilco for 90 minutes and as soon as they finished TBC came on (within 90 seconds). All I had to do was turn my head to the right and TBC had started. They played for 2 hours and the whole festival was awesome.

Plus I saw Drive by Truckers late night at the Culture Room which holds like 300 or so. That was the real highlight (Other then Wilco or course).

    Wow - that's cool.

I just grabbed a show last night where they did You've Got To Hide Your Love Away for the first time - I think it is from last week sometime. I can't recall.

  6. Yeah. They rocked, but seeing as I didn't know any of the songs, I couldn't get too much into it. Plus I was just beat from 2 days of standing in the hot sun and just seeing wilco, so I couldn't bear to go down in the crowd. But it was a good set.

Looks like they played their "hits" set so to speak - at least you got to see them.

  7. March 12, 2006 - Sunrise, FL - Langerado (Festival) - Sunday

No Speak Nop Slave, Sting Me, Black Moon Creeping, Soul Singing, Ballad in Urgency > Wiser Time, My Morning Song, Sometimes Salvation, By Your Side, Hard to Handle, She Talks to Angels, Jealous Again, Twice As Hard, Remedy

Anyone catch The Black Crowes set?

  8. All men must have someone, have someone

    Who would never take advantage

Of a love bright as the sun.

    Someone to understand them,

And you just may be the one.

All men must have someone, have someone

Who would never take for granted

All the pleasures and the fun.

    Someone to stand beside them

And you just may be the one.

I saw when you walked by

    The lovelight in your eye

And I knew I must try

To win you more than just a friend,

    I

  9. Hello, baby hello

Haven't seen your face for a while

Have you quit doing time for me

Or are you still the same spoiled child

    Hello, I said hello

Is this the only place you thought to go

Am I the only man you ever had

Or am I just the last surviving friend that you know

    Harmony and me

    We're pretty good company

    Looking for an island

In our boat upon the sea

Harmony, gee I really love you

And I want to love you forever

And dream of the never, never, never leaving harmony

    Hello, baby hello

Open up your heart and let your feelings flow

    You're not unlucky knowing me

    Keeping the speed real slow

In any case I set my own pace

By stealing the show, say hello, hello

  10. The curtain rises on the scene

With someone shouting to be free

The play unfolds before my eyes

There stands the actor who is me

The sleeping hours takes us far

    From traffic, telephones and fear

Put out your problems with the cat

Escape until a bell you hear

    Our reasons are the same

    But there

  12. Down in the graveyard where we have our tryst

The air smells sweet, the air smells sick

He never smiles, his mouth merely twists

The breath in my lungs feels clinging and thick

But I know his name, he's called Mr. D.

And one of these days he's gonna set you free

Human skulls is hangin' right 'round his neck

The palms of my hands is clammy and wet

Lord, I was dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

    Dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

Dancin', Lord, keep your hand off me

Dancin' with Mr. D., with Mr. D., with Mr. D.

Will it be poison put in my glass

Will it be slow or will it be fast?

The bite of a snake, the sting of a spider

A drink of Belladonna on a Toussaint night

Hiding in a corner in New York City

Lookin' down a fourty-four in West Virginia

I was dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

    Dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

Dancin', Lord, keep your hand off me

Dancin' with Mr. D., with Mr. D., with Mr. D.

One night I was dancin' with a lady in black

Wearin' black silk gloves and a black silk hat

She looked at me longin' with black velvet eyes

She gazed at me strange all cunning and wise

Then I saw the flesh just fall off her bones

The eyes in her skull was burning like coals

Lord, have mercy, fire and brimstone

I was dancin' with Mrs. D.

Lord, I was dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

I was dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

    Dancin', dancin', dancin' so free

    Dancin', dancin'

  13. I think I lost it

Let me know if you come across it

Let me know if I let it fall

    Along a back road somewhere

    Money can't replace it

    No memory can erase it

And I know I'm never gonna find

    Another one to compare

Give me some love to fill me up

Give me some time give me some stuff

Give me a sign give me some kind of reason

Are you heavy enough to make me stay

I feel like I might blow away

I thought I was in heaven

    But I was only dreamin

    I think I lost it

Let me know if you come across it

Let me know if I let it fall

    Along a back road somewhere

    Money can't replace it

    No memory can erase it

And I know I'm never gonna find

    Another one to compare

I just wanna live the life I please

    I don't want no enemies

I don't want nothin if I have to fake it

Never take nothin don't belong to me

    Everything's paid for nothing free

    If I give my heart

Will you promise not to break it

    I think I lost it

Let me know if you come across it

Let me know if I let it fall

    Along a back road somewhere

    Money can't replace it

    No memory can erase it

And I know I'm never gonna find

    Another one to compare

    Money can't replace it

    No memory can erase it

And I know I'm never gonna find

    Another one to compare

  14. When I'm walkin' under stars

I covet all the waning hours

All the lonely houses stand like monuments

    To thieves

When I'm walkin' in the dark

I'm free to covet all I want

You've made it all so very dangerous

    I can't stay away

    When I'm walkin' under trees

I'm free to covet all I please

    New moons in the alley

And it's madness calls to me

    Tonight, tonight, tonight...

If I meet you in the night

You're free to covet all you like

Don't you try and stop me

    I cling tightly...to this life

I played that song eight times in a row once. :wub

  15. God ain't jive

For I can see his love

    As it runs alive

    'N one by one

    Through fields of rusted wire

    The war has just begun

Oh, cross over shame like the wise dove

Who cares not for fame just for shy love

'N rejoice for the king ain't lost his throne, oh no

He's still here, you are not alone

    Correct your heads

For there's a new song rising

    High above the waves

    Go write your time

Go sing it on the streets

Go tell the world, but you go brave

Oh my sweet instant Christian you are such a sly clown

Too many questions, no replies now

'N rejoice for the king ain't lost his throne, oh no

He's still here, you are not alone

    I got an idea

    Go tell the superstar

All his hairs are turning grey

    Star-spangled fear

    As all the people disappear

    The limelight fades away

Cos if you think you are a star

For so long they'll come from near and far

But you'll forget just who you are (yes you will)

    You ain't the nazz

    You're just a buzz

    Some kinda temporary

Cross over shame like the wise dove

Who cares not for fame just for shy love

Oh-oh, my sweet instant Christian you are such a sly clown

Too many questions, no replies now

'N rejoice for the king ain't lost his throne. Oh no.

He's still here, you are not alone, you are not alone

  16. yeah, and the fact that it was his last book and (in my opinion) very different than the rest of his work i find very interesting. i like that most of his work is complex but a quick read. i'll put Ham On Rye next on my list ;)

I have a Buk christmas card from Black Sparrow Press.

  17. The rooms were so much colder then

My father was a soldier then

    And times were very hard

    When I was young

I smoked my first cigarette at ten

And for girls, I had a bad yen

And I had quite a ball

    When I was young

When I was young, it was more important

    Pain more painful

    Laughter much louder

    Yeah, when I was young

    When I was young

I met my first love at thirteen

She was brown and I was pretty green

And I learned quite a lot when I was young

    When I was young

    When I was young

    Pain more painful

    Laughter much louder

    Yeah, when I was young

    When I was young

My faith was so much stronger then

    I believed in fellow men

And I was so much older then

    When I was young

    When I was young

    When I was young
